AUTOIST FINED $10 MAY MOTOR FORMAL OPENING NEXT WEEK Every effort is being exerted by Mr. May, manager of the Anaheim branch of the May Motor Co., Orange-co dealer for Nash and Lafayette motor cars, to render the most efficient service possible. With expert mechanics in charge and a complete equipment of parts and machinery, the service department is performing its duties with a smoothly operating organization. The salesrooms and offices already offer a very presentable appearance, yet they are far from meeting the approval of Mr. May and he is busily engaged procuring additional furnishings and completing plans so that everything will be in shape for the formal opening of the firm which will take place Thursday, Friday and Saturday of next week. In addition to the offices and their fittings, large comfortable chairs have been invitingly placed about the room. Another feature is the handsomely furnished ladies' rest room. A complete showing of Nash models is ready for inspection. The specially constructed Nash chassis, with housings cut away so that all working parts are exposed, is also attracting much attention. The moving parts of this chassis are operated by an electric motor so that the functioning of all parts is easily explained. This cut-away chassis will remain on display during the days of the opening. Notice of AROUSED OVER PLAN TO TRANSFER TAXES Fullerton people are taking great interest in the measure for the classing of oil companies as public utilities. W. M. Irwin, secretary of the Fullerton B. of T., said this morning. Irwin today forwarded resolutions opposing the oil passed by the B. of T. at its last meeting, to the Orange-co representatives in the general assembly. Fullerton B. of T. delegates will make an effort to have the bill unfavorably acted upon by the Associated Chambers of Orange-co Wednesday at Anaheim. The bill, if it passes, will take away one-third of the school funds of the county by diverting the taxes to the state, it is stated. The regular weekly meeting of Fullerton Post, American Legion, will be held Tuesday night. A good program is scheduled. A leak in a water main at the rear of the telephone office was discovered this morning by Superintendent Gillett of the waterworks department of Fullerton. The leak was soon mended. The employes of the Fullerton public library will observe Washington's birthday Tuesday. They will attend the Orange-co Library Club meeting at Whittier. BIBLE CLASS FAME SRREADING WIDELY The fame of the Houser Bible class is fast spreading over the state and Fullerton is coming in for its share of credit as being the home of this remarkable organization. Delegations from the So. Cal. churches have already begun to arrive in Fullerton to attend the meetings and see "how it is done." Requests are also coming in for men from the class to visit other towns and tell them the methods which have been used here to form the organization and to maintain the esprit de corps which keeps it moving and growing. Five such requests have already been received and it is known that others are coming. The Rev. John T. Houser, pastor of the local Christian church, has returned from Pomona where he attended a "congress on evangelism" composed of representatives of 85 So. Cal. churches. He was asked to give some account of the work of the Fullerton church, including the Bible class, and he was literally besieged with questions as to methods and ways of starting similar work in other places. Morris, of Santa Ana, was fined $10 by Justice of the Peace Cox. Deputy District Attorney Mozley proved to the satisfaction of the court that Morris, while driving between Teatin and Yorba-st, turned from the right side of the road into a private driveway directly in the face of a stage from the opposite direction. To avoid collision the state driver, F. W. Stafford, ran his machine off the right side and crossed the private driveway just ahead of the Morris car, which was making a sharp turn to the left. Before Stafford could stop the stage, which was loaded with passengers, it ran into an orchard and stalled in the mud. —LADIES! Have you ever heard of NOURISHINE? The fact is that the increased wear is acutally caused by the pitch of the road, which throws more of the car on the fight side than the left. The round of the road from curb to curb is far more important in determining the sequence in which tires normally wear out—right rear, left rear, right front, left front—than is guiter wear and abrasions from grinding on pavements. The slope of the road causes the right rear tire to carry more weight than the left rear tire. Thus the right rear wears the faster of the two. The right front also will wear more rapidly than the left front, for the same reason. However, as the left rear wheel receives a driving pull while the right front does not, it will wear the fast- OF PEP AT THE SUNDAY DANCES SEAL BEACH PAVILION EVERY SUNDAY 7 TO 11:30 P.M.
