HOTELS SEEK OFFICE AND OPFFER ADVICE.
News from Florida gives inking of the news of a president-elect, not to break of the more numerous best-ments he will have when he becomes president fully fledged. Mr. Hardin finds long lines waiting to advise him on various and sundry matters, and other long lines waiting to press their respective applications and claims for notice. This species of annoyance to presidents has developed to proportions that would overwhelm the chief magistrate if he were not bridged in by rules and regulations of exclusion. Isolation of the president from "the madding crowd" has elevated the position of private secretary to the president to an importance that it otherwise would not have. PorTo the discretion of the presidential secretary is left decision as to whose appeals for audience shall be brought favorably.

WOMAN EVANGELIST AT FRIENDS CHURCH
WOMAN EVANGELIST AT FRIENDS CHURCH
YORBA LINDA, Feb. 17—Special—An unusual amount of interest is attached to the coming of Millie M. Lawhead, lady evangelist, to conduct an evangelistic campaign at the Friends' church, beginning next Sunday. She has two workers with her-M. Elise Shaner, song leader, and Prof. Ward Avery, pianist. They come direct to Yorba Linda from a union campaign which they just closed at Selling, Oklahoma last Sunday. Miss Lawhead and her party have never before been on the coast; but are well known in the middle west where they have been eminently successful.
The pastor of one of the churches in Selling, Okla., in a letter to Rev. Jay Carter, of the local Friends’ church says concerning these workers: "Mika Lawhead is clear, forceful and well taken." Mrs Shaner is a splendid song leader, and Prof. Avery is out of the ordinary at the piano in such work as this.
It seems that more interest is being manifested in this coming campaign than any that Yorba Linda had bereftors. Miss Lawhead and her party will arrive Saturday and will open their campaign Sunday morning.Feb.20.
It is announced that services will be held every night at 7:30 and also every afternoon except Mondays and Saturdays.

FLORSHEIM SHOES wouldn't do you much good if we didn't bring them here for you. That goes without saying. And they wouldn’t do you as much good as they do if we didn’t know how to sell them to you; how to give you a correct fit, the style and last you want; how to guard against gettinglasts that would turn out bad for you in thelong run; and how to make the whole transactiona pleasant, human, satisfying, personal experience. This is what we mean by“Service”—Florsheim Service. It is not anempty phrase with us.
