HUFFMAN AND JONES NUPTIALS FRIDAY WEST COAST, Feb. 14.—Special—Miss Edith Huffman and Mr. Derby Jones, of this lease, were united in marriage Feb. 11, at the parsonage of the Rev. Daul. The many friends wish them many happy returns of the day. Miss Evelyn Raymond spent the week-end with her little friend, Miss Florence Perry, of Anaheim. Mrs. Laura Reed and Miss Harvey, of Los Angeles, and E. A. Pereira and Miss Rogers, of Placentia, were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Hoffner, Valenciasave, Saturday. Friday was a delightful day at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Heftner, when her uncle and wife, E. J. Harvey, of Anatabula, Ohio, and Mr. and Mrs. T. White, called at their home for the day. They are just carried away with California, this being their second visit out here. Mrs. Wm. Cameron and two sons, Glen and Cecil, are visiting Mrs. Cameron's sister for a few days. Mrs. Howard Reed, of Los Angeles, was a dinner guest at the home of Mrs. Hoffner last Saturday. Mrs. Keen, of West Coast, is certainly going to have something good to eat in the future, as the writer observed several good things on the way. "I always thought she was pie-o-wow now I know it." It looked like all West Coast went to Anaheim Saturday evening to shop and later to attend the show. Mr. Rousden, brother of Mrs. Maley, is spending a few days with Mr. and Mrs. Maley after his release from the Fullerton hospital very much improved. Mr. and Mrs. Brayton, of Los Angeles, were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Chester McQuarrie last Friday. Mrs. McQuarrie drove to the city for them and they were to return via Santa Anna with Mr. and Mrs. McQuarrie. Mrs. J. E. Robertson, Mr. Gower, father, and son, Marion, drove over to visit friends at Yorba Linda Sunday. Mrs. Emil Hassler and son Donald recently of West Coast, and Mr. Tom McGhee, wife and daughter, Miss Elizabeth were invited to dine at the Tunis home Sunday. Now Mrs. Tunis can get up a swell dinner and al that is needed to go with the turkey. Mr. and Mrs. Heftner, of West Coast, are a very happy grandpa and grandma today, as their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. H.M.Farren, are the happy parents of a baby girl of 8 pounds, born Sunday at 2 a.m. They live in Brea, but are stopping with Mr. and Mrs. Farren for a while. Mr. M. Chambers was an Annheim visitor Monday. The main reason was to get his machine out of the hospital. It had been laid up for four or five days. Mrs. Holly Schumacher and son Walter were Anaheim visitors Monday morning. Mr. Jack Gaulden and Mrs. Lou Edmunds and little daughter Louise were Anaheim visitors Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Peirrine, of Brea, and Mr. Paul Smith, of Huntington Beach, had a delightful day last Friday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. M.C.Ryan, of West Coast. Brea News Items BREA, Feb. 14.—Special—the young folks or Christian Endeavors met at the parsonage last Saturday night and they certainly had what you would call a glorious time. There were about $5 present. Cocoa and wafers were served. Various games were indulged in until a late hour. Brea folks know how to enjoy life. Don't fall to attend the mid-week meeting at the Christian church, Mr. Clifford Hansen, of the Hole lease will have charge, and the subject will be "The Holy Spirit." Don't forget next Wednesday night. Also choir practice next Friday night/at the same place.Everybody welcome. The Christian Endeavor meeting was well attended Sunday night at Brea Christian church. The C.E., had full charge of the evening services. Miss Margaret Palcener being leader. Mrs. Shepard was one of a party on tour from Los Angeles to San Diego and had driven her car on a side trip through Silverado Canyon. Part of the road was a private driveway protected by gates. In passing one of the gates it suddenly swung shut just as the machine was passing, striking Mrs. Shepard's arm, which was protruding out of the car. A great many C.E.convention songs were sung. Miss Beulah Danielly and Miss Edith Edith sang a duet, "Have Thine Own Way," and Little Paul Moore sang a song, "More About Jesus." Several others took part, after which the services were closed by the pastor, Mr. Spleer. Last Friday evening a little surprise party was given at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Ediburn, on S.Walnut-st. Choir practice was in order also and after they had gathered at the little Christian church and practiced for some time, they dispersed to enjoy the party, which was very much enjoyed by all present. Games and music were indulged in until a late hour and then refreshments were served of sandwiches and cocoa. About twenty were present. Rev. W. E. The guests were Mr. and Mrs. R. M. Pay, Miss Ethel Archer and Miss Mildred Martin. Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Disher and son, Kenneth, of Ontario, visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. William Tyler Sunday. Mr. Kittle Ludolph, of Los Angeles, returned to her home after several days' visit with Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Wakefield. Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Fredericks departed Thursday morning for their home at Hudson, Ind., after spending several weeks with the latter's brother, J. M. Callison, and wife. Mrs. S. Hokowitz and little daughter visited in Los Angeles several days last week. Dr. Lundy and wife, of Miami, Florida, were guests of Mrs. Wm. McCullough Tuesday. Briefly the purpose of the federation is to re-awaken in America a realization of responsibilities of citizenship to oppose all efforts to substitute any other theories of government in place of the Constitution of the United States, and to defend the right of private property as the only practical incentive to the full exercise of individual energy, skill and thrift.
