Efforts are now being made to loosen the casing and carry it on. Drilling on Heffern No. 2 has been resumed, and hole is now being made at 1500 feet in the hard sand. Some very good drilling progress is now being made by the National Security and the Long Beach Consolidated Cos. The Long Beach Consolidated shows 2150 feet of hole in the blue shale and the National Security is down 1150. Drilling on the Olive Petroleum's wild cat is now at 3200; the formation hard sand and shale. Good progress is being made. Drilling by the Orange County Petroleum Co. at Orange-co park continues to make good headway. 1100 fee to hole has just been completed. Drilling on the Placentia-Pacific well is now at 650 feet where the sticky shale is showing considerable gas, but not quite so strong in oil as it did at 2500 feet. Recent developments by the Petroleum Development Co. on the Bradford property now make this lease look like one of the most promising in the field. It seems that this property is now scheduled to share in the big things obtained from the deep sand. This fact is borne out by the strong showing of oil Bradford No. 1 is exhibiting at 4-100 feet, where a nice oil sand was struck that is carrying a lot of gas and oil. Bradford Community No. 1 now drilling at 4000 feet is in a sandy shale that is carrying considerable oil. The showings in the two wells gives the Petroleum Development Co. a lot of encouragement to which the company is entitled for the large amount of drilling done during the past year. The Petroleum Midway is making splendid time drilling at Richfield No. 1. In a few weeks some 1500 feet of hole has been drilled, and the progress still continues. Isaacs No. 1 is now looking good and promises to make a well at 2900 feet. The Richfield Copsolidated is busy getting No. 2 under control. For several days sand has been bothering this is being cleaned out and in a few days the well will be back to its 350 and 400 barrels. Cleaning out and redrilling at No. 1 is about completed. The rig for No. 3 is up and a location for No. 4 has been staked. The Richfield-Yorba Oil Co. is still laboring with its wild cat well in the hope of getting it to produce. On a recent pump test the well fell down. The bailling shows lots of oil, but the well will not pump. It is understood now an effort will be made to force the oil out by means of compressed air. The Richfield United Oil Co.'s No. 1 is still standing cemented at 3100 feet after drilling 3197 feet of hole. It is understood that the showing was nothing to cause any excitement before cementing. It has been given out that the well is waiting on drill pipe. However, the delay may really be to see how the Harrington-Dumas where 900 feet of hole was drilled and a strong of pipe set in 75 days. The Richfield Union Petroleum has been cemented at 2705 feet and is scheduled to stand 30 days. Just why the well is to remain standing cemented so long a time is a matter of comment in the local field. This well has been drilled at considerable expense and it may be that the work will not be resumed, until the finances are strengthened. Vern Dumas continues to make a good record drilling on the Ridgge well. The drill is now at 2425, where a substantial showing of gas was struck. Drilling on the Wardman property by the Selby-Root-Hogue Oil Co. his making progress at 1800 feet in spite of the fact that some of the hardest conglomerate in the field, is being drilled thru. The Wonder Oil Co., developing what is known as the Kraemer home place, has drilled its No. 1 well to 3250 feet, and set pipe at 3300. The drilling of this well by the Keck Drilling Co. has been very successful thus far. MASCOT BAILS GREGG NO. 2 TO 1200 FEET Whittier A few days ago the Mascot Oil Co. bailed its Gregg No. 2 down to 1200 feet where the water stood without a change in level. This is the first real encouragement the Mascot has had since it started battling with deep water in a well drilled to 4235 feet. Plugged back to 3980 the water problem now appears solved and the chances for a producer are a great deal better. Further tests will be made this week.
