Monday, January 30, 1921 City Briefs Mattis, of U. S. C., was home for week-end. Mr. and Mrs. Bryan motored to Anaheim Monday. Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Baker motored to Los Angeles Saturday. Harry Clabaugh, of Los Angeles, was a visitor in Anaheim today. L. M. McClintious, of Pineentia, is a patient at the Anaheim hospital. Miss Mildred Howe went to Los Angeles yesterday to visit her sister. Miss Clara Stitchman, of Anaheim, is a patient at the Anaheim hospital. Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Rockwell were visitors at Huntington Beach on Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. J. Kellenberger were business visitors in Los Angeles Saturday. Mrs. H. T. Hathaway, of the Blue Bird Shop, has fully recovered from her recent illness. Mrs. G. L. Tolson, of Long Beach, was the guest of Anaheim friends on a very recent day. Mrs. J. J. Roper, of Santa Anna, is among the patients registered at the Anaheim hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Hamler and Mr. and Mrs. A. D. Erickson went to Los Angeles yesterday. Mr. and Mrs. H. McGilvrey, of Venice, were the week-end guests of Mr. and Mrs. Emil Olto. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Curtis, of San Pedro, were the week-end guests at the A. A. Mills home. H. E. Eddy and family were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Morgan Jones, of Hansen Station, yesterday. Mrs. M. W. Martinet is entertaining Thursday evening for the members of an evening card club. Mrs. S. A. Stoll is still confined to her bed with sprain suffered to her ankle-ten days ago. Miss Faye Kern, of U. S. C., was home for the week-end at the home of her parents, E. Adele-st. Mrs. E. E. Brus, of Kroeger-st, will be hostess Tuesday afternoon to the members of the Sixteen club. Miss Alice Ingram, who is attending school in Los Angeles, spent the weekend at the home of her parents. Mr. and Mrs. N. L. Smith, of Santa Ana, were visitors in Anaheim Saturday and Mrs. A. B. McCord motored to oFrest Home yesterday. They report lots of mud and slush. Chas. Federman has returned to Anaheim, having fully recovered from the shake-up received in the recent auto bus accident. Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Trapp and Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Probst will motor to Los Angeles tomorrow, combining business and pleasure. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Lawrence and children, Esther, Estellea and Delphine, were Sunday guests in the C. A. Clark home on E. Center-st. Miss Edna Miller, of Los Angeles, and Miss Elsie Williams, of Long Beach, were the guests over the weekend of Miss Freida Jones. Mr. and Mrs. M. M. Stewart, of Miami, Arls., will arrive about Feb. 10th for a several weeks' visit at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Trapp. Mr. and Mrs. O. A. Loomis and children spent yesterday afternoon at the E. M. Chalmers ranch, four miles west of Anaheim on the County-rd. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Comstock were week-end guests this week in the home of Mr. Comstock's mother, Mrs. Bertha S. Comstock, 204 W. Sycamore-st. Mrs. William Westerholt and Mrs. August Westerholt, of Pender, Neh, arrived Saturday and will be the guests of their sister-in-law, Mrs. Fred Westerholt. Mr. and Mrs. Franklin J. Meyers, of Hollywood, and Mr. Eldon R. Reeder, of Los Angeles, spent Sunday afternoon and evening visiting Anaheim friends. Mrs. W.D. DeLancy and children, of Artesia, and Mrs.McGraathren and children, of Santa Anna, were the dinner guests Sunday at the home of Mrs.F.Bock. Mr. and Mrs.Anold W.Walker and children spent Sunday in Tustin where they were guests in the home of Mrs.Walker's brother, Charles A.Grisset,and family. William Trapp Jr., cement pipe contractor, has received the contract for the making and laying of 300 feet of Gregg on his 20-acre orange grove on Buena Vista-ave. W.A.Wallace and daughter,Miss Alberta,G.J.Ingramand daughter,Miss Lorene, were members of a party which spent Sunday enjoying wintry sports at Camp Baldy. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Morris, of Los Angeles, were the week-end guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Johnston. Mr. and Mrs. E. B. Camp were guests Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. James M. Broat, Boulevard-pl, Long Beach. Miss Luna Wellman is moving tomorrow from her present location in the Central-bldg, to 114 S. Philadelphia-st. Iselle Abbott spent the week-end at my home here. He came down Friday evening from Los Angeles, and returned last night. The many friends of Mrs. B. Lawrence will be grieved to learn that she is quite ill and has been removed to a hospital. Kuhlman is visiting her daughter in San Bernardino. Mr. Kuhlman said this morning he has an eye out for a new cook, but is afraid to advertise least his wife might read the newspapers. Mr. and Mrs. M. Terry, of E. Northst, entertained as their dinner guests yesterday Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Tower, of La Habra, Miss Ruby Daggett, of La Habra, sister of Mrs. Terry, was a guest on Saturday. The Woman's Bible class of the First Presbyterian church will hold a social meeting Tuesday night at the home of Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Miller, on West Broadway. The men's class will be invited to join them. W.E.Altnow arrived home this morning after spending several months in Tucson, Ariz. He says Anaheim looks mighty good to him after the dullness of conditions in Arizona caused by the lull in the mines and railway shops. A.W.Black, of East Anaheim, who has been seriously ill and had somewhat recovered when he suffered a relapse, has been able to get out again for the last few days and his friends hope to see him regain his usual good health very soon. Mrs.J.A.Gelsinger, wife of the pastor of the White Temple Methodist church, was taken suddenly ill on the street Saturday. Her physician pronounced it a nervous collapse, but reported her condition somewhat improved today. She is unable to take even liquid food. Walter Green, of Denver, Colo., was a guest Sunday of his cousin, Mrs.L.M.Peebler, at the Mission-apts, Char-trees-st. This was the first meeting of the cousins for 40 years and the occasion was a very enjoyable one. Mr.Green is a contractor and had been making a business trip to Los Angeles. Mr. and Mrs.Wm.Criss and son, Charles attended the Kansas picnic at Long Beach Saturday. They had the pleasure of meeting a number of old-time friends and acquaintances.
