FARMERS FEEL LOT BETTER SINCE RAIN
The recent rains have dispelled any forbodings of ill that might have here-to-fore existed in the minds of the ranchers and they are very busy making preparations for the planting time and work in the orchards," states Bert T. Archer, salesman for the Wallis tractor and representative of the Pease-Kolberg Co., Orange-co distributors. Mr. Archer makes some statements as why the Wallis has attained fame.
"The fame of the Wallis tractor is due in large measure to its scientific importance made about the relative cost of operating a tractor using different fuels; there are many things to be taken into consideration, especially miles per hour and weight.
No salesman or manufacturer can tell just what will be the cost of plowing or other work on an acre without taking into consideration the depth of plowing, character of soil, degree of moisture, condition and design of tractor. In other words don't believe all that is told you about actual figures on the cost of operation of a tractor. Reliable manufacturers and salesmen will not state exact figures of cost until they know every operating condition.
The Wallis is sold on facts. Misstatements are not necessary, the truth is quite sufficient to convince any intelligent man that he gets the best value on the market when he invests in a Wallis tractor."

BAY CITY LOT IN FIGHT FOR TITLE
Rupert B. Turnbull has filed suit against Miss Edna C. Carr, Elwin M. Cummings and others to quiet title to a lot at Bay City by which he came into possession thru a sale conducted by Sheriff Jackson.
The complaint recites that last October in Los Angeles an action entitled "A. S. Fullerton versus Edna C. Carr and others" was brot before the courts. A judgment for Fullerton in the amount of $9500 was declared insolvent and Fullerton acquired the lot thru a deed of gift without consideration from Cummings.
Turnbull claims that the lot was sold to the highest bidder and that he has a certificate of sale from the sheriff. It is further alleged that Miss Carr transferred the lot to prevent Fullerton from collecting on the Judgment rendered. It is alleged also that Dec. 5 Fullerton sold the defendants claim to title and right of the property.
Turnbull asks that this conveyance be declared void and that he be declared the sole owner of the lot in question.
MAY URGE BILL FOR CRIPPLED CHILDREN
That a bill providing for the education of crippled children will be submitted to the Woman's Legislative council of the State Federation of Women's clubs for its approval was declared today by Mrs. A. J. Lawton, president of the council following her return to Santa Ana from Sacramento, where she attended the session of the legislature as the council's representative. The bill has been introduced at Sacramento, any forbodings of ill that might have here-to-fore existed in the minds of the ranchers and they are very busy making preparations for the planting time and work in the orchards," states Bert T. Archer, salesman for the Wallis tractor and representative of the Pease-Kolberg Co., Orange-co distributors. Mr. Archer makes some statements as why the Wallis has attained fame.
"The fame of the Wallis tractor is due in large measure to its scientific proportions of weight and to its plowing speed. At certain seasons of the year hours are truly golden. Every month is precious. Ranchers must crowd into a few months a whole year's work.. To him rain and sun, heat and frost are vital, they make or mar his whole year's profits. He must strike while the iron is hot and do his work in the shortest possible time. In addition to speed in sowing time the Wallis has the tremendous advantage of moderate weight yet weight enough to give proper traction.
Because of its light weight the Wallis does not pack the soil as do machines weighing 2000 or 4000 pounds. Judge for yourself the saving in fuel, the saving in weight is accomplished by simplicity of construction, the use of a superior quality of materials. Drop forgings, steel stampings, and alloy stock of enormous strength, yet light weight.
The kind of fuel used in the Wallis tractor is optional with the individual user. We can burn gasoline, kerosene or distillate. Do not be misled, however, by careless statements."
MAY ORGLE DILL FOR CRIPPLED CHILDREN
That a bill providing for the education of crippled children will be submitted to the Woman's Legislative council of the State Federation of Women's clubs for its approval was declared today by Mrs. A. J. Lawton, president of the council following her return to Santa Ana from Sacramento, where she attended the session of the legislature as the council's representative. The bill has been introduced at Sacramento, but has never been given consideration by the woman's council.
"The new community property law," said Mrs. Lawton, "is the measure in which the women are most interested. So far that measure has been merely submitted, and is being discussed. It will come up for a vote of course, in March or April. The bill was introduced into the senate by Senator Lyons of Los Angeles and into the assembly by Assemblyman Merriam of Long Beach.
"This bill is one that was drawn up by a majority of a committee appointed by the State Bar Assn., and while it does not bear the endorsement of the bar association it certainly is the product of the brains of some of the ablest attorneys in the state.
"Another of the council's bills introduced is one providing for allowing state aid for orphans and half-orphans up to the age of 16 years.
"The bill providing for the protection of minor boys from vice was not introduced during the first half of the session."

It is alleged that he left his car on the traveled portion of Pomona ave in Fullerton while making repairs.

compelling as the West itself.
The feature at the New Grand theatre tonight will be "The Golden Hope," starring Edith Storey, the popular emotional actress. It is a story of the West and laid in the West, but it is not a typical Western story, since cowboys are conspicuous by their absence. Rather it is a story in which the human emotions are given full play with the splendor and solemnity of the desert and mountains as a back-ground.
