Saturday, January 15, 1921 FELLERTON EBELL VISITS R. T. CLUB PLACENTIA, Jan. 15.—The Round Table club held their regular meeting Wednesday afternoon "a their beautiful club house. After a very short business meeting the program of the day was most thoroughly enjoyed by the members and their visitors, members of the Fulleton Ebell club. The program consisted of a demonstration of some nursing, presented by the nursing section of the Fulleton Ebell under the direction of Mrs. Cowles. Following this very practical scene was a very interesting demonstration of home economics by that section of the Fulleton Ebell. This demonstration included an exhibit of an article of clothing made from discarded garments. Following this splendid program was a social half hour, during which tea and wafers were served by the hostesses, Mrs. Lucy, Mrs. Cuff and Mrs. Parray. Mr. Howard Lucy is building a new home for himself on his place on Chapman ave. Little Charles Keele, son of the barber, was knocked down in front of a swing at the school and his shoulder dislocated and the ligaments of his arm torn. The meeting was in the hands of the religious committee, the hostesses for the day being Mrs. Rev. Carter, Mrs. Gale and Mrs. Bacon. There was a splendid talk given by Miss Shepardson, of the Fullerton high school staff, along the lines of "Religion In Connection with the Young Girl," which was much enjoyed by those present. Miss Olive Gale delighted her hearers with a vocal number and responded to an encore. The hostesses served sandwiches, cake and tea, while a social hour was enjoyed. Friends of the Chas. R. Selover family will be pleased to learn that their three-months-old son, who has been very ill in the Anaheim hospital, is much improved. Mr. R. A. Knight was a visitor to San Bernardino Friday. His friends are glad to note such an improvement. Mrs. Hilda Paline is back at her duties in the Star office after being ill for several days. Mrs. Calkins went back to the Olive sanitarium on Tuesday for further treatment. Mrs. Mary Allman was able to be out Friday for the first time after being confined to her bed for several weeks from the effects of a fall. Mr. F. Gauldin has a fine new Bulck. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Johnson are enjoying a visit from Mr. Johnson, of Oregon, who is an uncle of Fred's. They had not seen one another for 25 years. BOOST FRESNO SALARIES $80,000 FRESNO, Jan 15.- Increase in Fresno county elective and appointive officials' salaries, which will total approximately $80,000, is provided for in a bill to be introduced at this session of the legislature by Senator M. B. Harris. NEW DRY MEASURE AT FRESNO FRESNO, Jan 15.- Perhaps the most stringent prohibition enforcement ordinance yet proposed will be submitted to the trustees of Fresno in an endeavor to check the manufacture of "home brew." The ordinance will prohibit the manufacture of any fermented liquor of the possession or sale of any utensils used in the manufacture of intoxicating liquor.
