VICTORY LOAN WAR
TRUCK TRAIN HERE
TUESDAY EVENING
On Tuesday evening at Liberty Park, the citizens of Anaheim have an opportunity to enjoy one of the best educational features of the entire Victory Loan campaign.
At that time, what is known as the Orange County Victory Loan Truck Train will be on exhibition. This train is composed of two large government trucks equipped with the paraphernalia used by the American soldiers and sailors in conquering the Hun. Accompanying the exhibit are men particularly familiar with the handling of these death-dealing instruments, each and every one of whom will give an explanation of the same.
One of the largest pieces of artillery on exhibit will be a Stokes mortar, weighing about 600 pounds. This will be demonstrated by Sergeant Long of Headquarters Company, 32nd Infantry, at Camp Kearny. Sergeant Long will illustrate the loading of this gun and the firing. He also has what is known as the 37 M. M. gun used by infantry regiments against machine gun nests. This gun was used in wiping out the machine gun nests at the Argonne.
Latest Type Guns.
There are many types of machine guns, but the latest machine gun adopted by the United States Government is the Browning.. Sergeant Horn of the machine gun company of the 32nd Infantry at Camp Kearny will illustrate the loading, firing and explain the mechanical parts of this gun.. This is the type of gun that was used to mow down the Germans as they swept forward on the different battlefields of France.

The new weapon that was developed to the highest grade of efficiency during the war was the grenade and Sergeant Clifton of Company L. will illustrate and explain the use of the hand and rifle grenade. This is the weapon that was used to clean out dugouts, and in trench warfare by both sides. It is exceedingly interesting to have these things explained. In addition to developing the grenade, this war also developed the gas mask. Sergeant Clifton will give an explanation and demonstrate the use of these masks.
Browning Automatic Rifle.
The companion piece to the Browning Machine gun was the Browning automatic rifle of the light type. Sergeant Cassel, Company L, 32nd Infantry, will give a complete explanation of the automatic rifle, explaining the use of the magazines, magazine filler, etc.
Corporal McKinnan, Company C, 32nd Infantry, Camp Kearny, will have the entire pack equipment, including the pack used by the American soldiers, entrenching tools, clothing, infield rifle, in fact everything carried by the American in the field and in combat.
In addition to the above, there will be a full sized torpedo from the United States submarine base. This one is 52 meters by 45 centimeters and is the general type used by submarines, costing $6000 and is effective at 3000 yards, or a mile and a half, and travels at the rate of 30 miles an hour.

BAXTER TO DRESS PIG FOR FLIERS
There's nothing small about B. C. Baxter, Placentia rancher.
The other day when the Flying Circus visited Anaheim Mr. Baxter had fulfilled an ambition that has been bothering him for months, that is, to have the distinction of being the first man in the United States to ship pork by airplane. One of the filers carried a Baxter porker over Anaheim. Incidentally, the poor porker was deathly sick when the flight was ended. He couldn't stand the tall-spins, loop-the-loops and the like.
Months ago Mr. Baxter made the offer that the first aviator who landed near his place on B. C. thorpe-ave could have a none-could land there for reason they didn't land week, the land is so vast it is not stretch large enough to get a take-off. Accord Baxter took the porker to from which place it made. The filers immediately porker into camp, nicknamed stating that it would be best at March field.
Mr. Baxter was so pleased the reception of his pork told the filers when they barracks to let him know they could find who wished a pork feed and he a hog of the proper size over to Riverside for their Ben Baxter, Cement Pipe
