Social and Personal News From Brea And the Oilfields BREA, April 25.—Special—C. C. Brock feeling the need of a little recreation spent the day in Los Angeles Thursday. Joe Charman, who was operated on the last of the week at Fullerton for the removal of his tonsils and adenoids has returned home and is able to be out, but has not yet returned to his position. Mrs. J. E. Russell, who has been quite ill is improving and her friend will all be glad to see her back to her place of business. Brea was well represented at the Rialto theatre at Fullerton Wednesday night to see Nazimova in "Out of the Fog." Mr. Eldon Cox received the news of the death of his brother Wednesday morning at the Santa Fe hospital in Los Angeles. The decease was also a nephew of W. A. Kolb of the Brea Billiard Parlors. Miss Pauline Thayer was up from Long Beach Thursday to visit her grandmother, Mrs. Kinstler. Mr. Bowen of Los Angeles arrived in Brea Wednesday and secured a position at once with the Union Company. Mr. Bowen has seen home only a few days from the service, having volunteered at the beginning of the war.
