Judge and Mrs. J. S. Howard and family motored to the home of A. H. Horwitz in Los Angeles yesterday. They were accompanied home by Miss Hannah Horwitz who spent last week with her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Giltz and son of Fullerton were, the week-end guests of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Horwitz.
Captain W. H. Wickett, Fullerton physician, who has been in the service for the past year, passed through Santa Ana Thursday to Camp Kearny in charge of a special train of aviators going to the camp for demobilization. Wickett was met at Orange by members of the Wickett, Chapman, Thamer and Johnson families of Fullerton and vicinity. He is a son-in-law of C. O. Chapman of Placentia. Captain Wickett probably will re-establish his practice at Fullerton and Anaheim.

F. E. Harrison has been laid up the past week as a result of a painful injury he sustained while unloading an engine near Stanton, when the crow bar he was using as a pry slipped, and inflicted an ugly gash in his right leg five inches long and an inch deep. He got into his machine and immediately drove home. Dr. Violett was summoned and found it necessary to take seven or eight stitches to close the wound. He is now gatting along very nicely and hopes soon to be back on the job in

J. L. Adkins, former Anaheim laundry driver and now working in Anaheim for the Model Laundry of Santa Ana, cannot solicit trade from the customers of the Anaheim Laundry which he formerly served, for the Santa Ana company, according to an injunction granted by Superior Judge R. Y. Williams.
The court denied the Anaheim company's plea for $750 damages which it declared had already been sustained by reason of Adkins solicitation for the Model laundry in the past three weeks.

Wm. Evans, one of Garden Grove's oldest residents passed away at his home 3-4 of a mile south of the Westminster boulevard Sunday, April 13, after short illness. The deceased came from England 38 years ago and has lived with his brother, Harry, in Garden Grove over 20 years. The brothers were bachelors and have lived together continuously over 50 yrs. with the exception when the deceased came to this country in advance of his brother.

Together with 100,000 machines put in use on American farms last year, this will give one tractor for each 17 farms. It indicates a tremendous saving in man-power and horsepower on American farms, experts say.
TO HIRE ARCHITECT
At a meeting of the trustees of the proposed new tourist hotel at Santa Ana today, an architect is to be selected from a number now under consideration.
During the last two weeks thetees have been looking over suggestions offered by a number of Los Angeles architects, and a decision will be reached Monday afternoon as to who shall be designated as the man to prepare the plans for the hotel.
The hotel fund has not been fully raised, but the trustees are proceeding with preliminary plans in the belief that the necessary amount will be available by the time building details can be completed to the point where actual construction work can start.

FIRST SKIRMISH ENDS WITH WIDOW LOSER
In the first legal battle over the estate of William Schulte, the widow Mrs. Emma Schulte, was the loser. She brought an action against the executors of the estate for the possession of an automobile and some other property, altogether worth about $1600. She asserted that the property belonged to her. The decision of the court was that it belongs to the estate.

The Intermediate Christian Endeavorers held another one of their lively social gatherings at the home of Miss Esther Norris on Friday evening.' Games and music occupied the evening and the young people showed a deep appreciation of the delicious refreshments that were served.
