TO KEEP UP FIGHT
The Orange County Farm Bureau is going to keep up the fight for the passage of a measure to prevent the waste of underground waters by owners of artesian wells.
A decision to that effect has been reached by the Farm Bureau directors.
President Woodrough reported on the fate of Assembly Bill No. 6—the Water Conservation Bill, prepared by the Orange Farm Bureau—lost on the floor of the Assembly because of the determined opposition of the gun club lobby.
"The incessant pressure brought to bear by the wealthy gun club lobby overpowered the small and periodic representation sent by the Farm Bureau," said Woodrough. "That is another example of the need of a State Farm Bureau Federation to aid the farmer in getting just representation and legislation based on just principles."
