That is the conclusion of S. H. Finley of Santa Ana, chairman of the placement committee for Orange-co. Finley has consulted in the last day or two with N. T. Edwards of Orange, R. J. McFadden of Anaheim, A. H. Sitton of Fullerton and E. E. French of Huntington Beach, who are on the committee with him, and he has found that not one of them has had an application for assistance in getting work from any Orange-co man. "There was one man from the east who landed here and wanted us to help him get a job," said Finley, "and I suppose he got a job or went to some other place, for he did not come back to my office as I directed him to do. This committee is organized for the purpose of helping the returning men to get back their jobs or to get better jobs. We want them to let us know what we can do for them, and we stand ready and willing to put our shoulders to the wheel. We want the public in general to know that this committee is in existence to do what it can do to get employment for the men coming home. Any parties in the county who are employing help and who want to give preference to returning men should make that fact known to us." FULLERTON PIONEER EXPIRES SUDDENLY E. C. Culmer, of Fullerton, a pioneer resident died suddenly at noon Tuesday. Culmer was a harness maker and was at work in his shop till within a few minutes of his death. He went into a neighboring store, and as he passed out the rear of the building he was seen to fall. E. Boge ran to his assistance and the dying man exclaimed "I have a palm here" placing his hand over his heart. He expired immediately. Culmer came to Fullerton over 30 years ago and was one of the first to join the Masonic lodge. He leaves a mother—Mrs. George F. Hogel, and two brothers and two sisters. PARTNER SUES FOR $1,000 AND RANCH J. L. Sutton has brought action against M. Fisher for $1,000 and possession of a 20-acre dairy ranch. The complaint states the two men were partners in the dairy business from Dec. 3, 1917, to July 26, 1918, on the ranch belonging to Sutton. After the partnership broke up, Fisher retained possession of the ranch. This was done against Sutton's will and in spite of his demand for possession. Sutton asserts that adverse possession by Fisher has damaged him $1,000. CADMAN REPAINTING W. J.
