THERE are many definite reasons for the smooth restfulness of the Cadillac.
Not the least of these is the element of physical and mental ease.
The Cadillac V-type engine is so free from sound and shock that those in the car are actually unmindful of its mechanism.
The power impulses, merging one into another, result only in a smooth glide or a swift spurt, depending upon the mood of the driver.
To ride and be unconscious of the power which bears you forward is one of the great joys of the Cadillac ownership.

BUILDING ACTIVITY INCREASES OVER ABOUT PLACENTIA
PLACENTIA, April 7.—Special things are stirring now in Placentia—watch us grow. There is not a vacant dwelling nor a vacant store room in the town. But a lot of new dwellings will soon be under way, and W. E. Stradley will put up a new store building whenever any one wants it. Samuel Kraemer is planning to put up a group of bungalows and W. J. Jaeger will put up two or three. Since then O. C. Christensen has purchased from A. S. Bradford the lot next to the club house and has material ordered for a fire-room cottage. W. E. Stradley is getting out plans and will build on his lot next to the Presbyterian church, and may build more.
After spending part of their honeymoon at Catalina Island, Mr. and Mrs. William Cober left Thursday for Murphysboro, Ill., where they will make their future home. Mrs. Cober was Miss Reba Farrar before her marriage.
There will be no meeting of the W. C. T. U. Tuesday on account of the county convention which will be held at Orange on that day, and which all the members are invited to attend.
Sergt. Howard Lucy sends a post card from Germany. He says he has seen it all "between Treves, Coblenz,
on a business trip of several weeks. On his return, he was accompanied by his brother, Earl, who has been in service four years, most of the time over there, in the Canadian army. He was wounded once, and seriously ill two or three times, but is enjoying good health, and is glad to get back to a peaceful land.
At last Friday's election, H. S. Leavitt was elected trustee of the grammar school by practically unanimous vote. Rev. F. M. Dowling of Placentia and J. D. Sievers of La-Habra were elected high school trustees.
The packing houses are all working steadily now, the fruit is running fine in quality, and the new valencias are coming on in good shape. Davies has been running on Valencias for some time, and the others are winding up the sweets and St. Michael's this week. The shipments for last month totaled 86 cars, as compared with 52 cars for March, 1913!
Mrs. E. Penn has purchased the ice house formerly owned by S. W. Ni-man and has had it moved to her confectionery store. When the warm weather comes she will keep ice on hand for the benefit of those who
