"DOC" BAKER HOME
Ernie "Doc" Baker returned to Anaheim Monday. He spent eight months in France, six of them on the fighting front, being gassed once. He was a member of the 92nd Division. While at the front he says there were occasions when he was on cook duty 24 hours and then on guard duty. He left Anaheim Oct. 26, 1917. He is a brother of Lee Baker.
STEAL PLAIN DEALERS
Ike Lopera, RFD 3, has more than usual reason to realize the demand for The Plain Dealer. Seven Plain Dealers have been stolen from his mail-box. He wishes the son-of-a-gun would subscribe for his own paper.

VICTORY LIBERTY LOAN TROPHY TRAIN TO START APR. 12
The Victory Liberty Loan Trophy Train that will start from San Francisco, Saturday, April 12, to tour the State, Arizona and Nevada, will be the "best ever." Nothing to compare with it has ever been sent over the tracks of the western railroads, and loan leaders believe it will stir up unusual enthusiasm.
The train will be dedicated in San Francisco with a big program and 250 homing pigeons will be released to carry messages to their home towns, giving announcement that the train has started. A captured German mortar taken at Belleau Wood by the 5th Regiment U. S. Marines will be the prize for the town whose pigeon makes the best record in carrying the message. Dr. Frederick D-Evelyn, of 60 Federal-st., San Francisco, is receiving entries of homing pigeons for the flight.
The train will carry a whippet tank which will be driven down from the train platform to give an exhibition at each stop. The veterans of tank service on the western front will operate the tank.
Among the trophies of the great war that will be carried on the train are: Compressed air bomb throwers; German minenwerfers; French, German and American machine guns; "flying pigs;" German Zepplin motor; sniper shields; flame throwers; periscope; depth bombs; observation tower; high explosive shells; German
699 REGISTER IN DISTRICT NO. ONE
According to the completed records of Local Exemption District Board No. 1, Orange-co, there were 699 men registered in the Santa Ana district who entered military service either through the draft or by voluntary enlistment. In addition to these, there were 58 who were inducted into the Student Army Training Corps.
The work of the local board has been completed, with the exception of the final act. That final act will be the shipment of all records of the board next Monday. The records go directly to Washington, D.C.
The Anaheim Orange & Lemon Association have installed a very fine 50-foot flag pole on the parking which soon will be a greenward before the new packing house.
The Fordson Tractor will do your work efficiently and economically.

American dogs of war will be exhibited and every possible relic of interest from the war will be explained by American heroes who saw action in the greatest Yank offensives.
Music will be provided by a navy band. The itinerary has not been completed, but during the 29 days that the train will be out more than 150 stops will be made.
EXPECT BEAN POOL OPERATIVE TODAY
With at least 75 per cent of the lima beans in Southern California in the pool, the lima bean pool has been definitely settled upon. A meeting is being held today at Oxnard for the purpose of electing four additional directors to handle the crop, and by Saturday the pool will be in operation and probably beans will be moved at once at a price to be fixed by the pool.
The California Lima Bean Growers' Association and as many of the independent dealers and growers as it has been possible to get are in the pool. The bean men are confident that they can now stabilize the market, and by creating conditions in the east they feel certain that the beans will be moved.
One encouraging feature of the investigation that has been going on for the last week is that there are fully 100,000 bags less in the warehouses than bean men had supposed. That means, of course, fewer beans to move.
Here in Orange county fully 90 per cent of the beans on hand are in the pool.
When the pool was decided upon last week five directors were chosen. Four more were elected today. The nine directors will use their best efficiencies at each stop.

FULLERTON PLANS
EASTER SERVICE
The Fullerton Board of Trade has placed itself squarely back of three events and will heartily sponsor all of them. The first will be a grand celebration on the Fourth of July of tri-significance viz., the great day of freedom itself, also a recognition of the boys in and out of the service and the signing of peace, which probably will have been effected by that time. An invitation to the surrounding towns to join in the Fullerton festivities will be formally extended.
The second event will be a baby show. Entries will be sought from all parts of the county and scores of promising youngsters will be entered for the various awards. The show probably will be stripped of all highly scientific judging, so that maybe the homeliest and skinniest tot in the bunch may draw a prize for some point that its competitors may not be fortunate enough to possess.
The third event will be an Easter sunrise service to be held on the peak of some hill near the city. The chairmanship of this affair will be vested in Professor L. E. Plummer, who will name his own assistants.
