IT'S YORBA LINDA WELL AND WRITER WARNS 'HANDS OFF' YORBA LINDA, Mar. 21.—Special —The surrounding towns are making a brand effort to steal Yorba Linda's hunter when it comes to writing up articles on the new Chapman gusher and the General Petroleum well Santa Ana, Anaheim, Fullerton and Whittier have all claimed it so far, but no matter how much claiming they do they cannot change the location of the well. It is no doubt a firmly established fact that altho the opening of this new and unexpected oil field will in some way effect these towns; it will have a far greater effect on the growth and development of Yorba Linda townsite. There are thousands of undeveloped acres lying east of the town, and Yorba Linda will some day be the mecca of the settlers in this large tract, and that day is not far distant. Present indicacations are that this will be opened into an immense oil field. There is a great opportunity for some individual capitalist or for a construction company to come into the town to build bungalows to sell or to rent. There are calls every day for houses, which simply cannot be filled. Every —Late popular sheet music 10c per copy, 11 copies for $1.00. Schmidt Music Co., 18G W. Center St. ANAHEIM MON. One citizen recently received work from an eastern friend, who is therhe was preparing to come to Yorba Linda and settle down on his propety. Please rent me a house he requested. He might just as easily have asked for the moon. Lorba Linda has only been on the may 7 years. If anyone can show a better development for this short period they will have to go some. It is surrounded by splendid orange and lemon growers, in the most thriving condition. There are two packing houses, busy virtually all of the time. The Mutual Assn. has just added a large addition to their plant to facilitate the handling of their output, and now since the Chapman gusher came in, oil has taken up a part which it will play to a grand finish in the future development of the tract. Oil companies are falling over each other in an effort to lease acreage here, and are offering large bonuses and splendid rental for a chance to drill in this land. Watch Yorba Linda. You will have to keep a pretty steady eye on her for she is out for speed. Mr. and Mrs. D. W. Kinsman motored to Los Angeles Wednesday. Mr. Sutton is driving a very classy new Dodge. SAY "WHITE LILY" TO YOUR GROCER There is nothing which helps any town so much as to buy what you consume in the town in which you live. When you spend money in Anaheim you have some chance of using the same money again, but when you spend it outside there is little chance that you will ever see the same money again. When quality and price are equal, for Anaheim goods, in comparison with merchandise made or sold elsewhere, a person shows very little "town pride" when they buy goods elsewhere, and if everyone followed the same policy, it would be pretty hard sledding in our little city. We claim that "White Lily" bread is the equal of any bread made anywhere, and the price is really less when quality is compared. When you ask your merchant for "White Lily" you are helping a home enterprise, you are getting just as much for your money, and you are holding for yourself a chance to spend the same money again at some later date. Be true to Anaheim. Say "White Lily" to your grocer when you want bread or cookies—and call at our place sometime and let us show you some of the methods we use in making these things for our home people—Ady.
