LIKE ANAHEIM SO
WELL THEY BUILD
MAGNIFICENT HOME
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Sidener are to be congratulated on their new home which was planned entirely by them.
They made a trip to this city last winter, coming from Lincoln, Nebr., where Mr. Sidener was in the furniture business. After visiting here for a while they returned to Lincoln but, before they had been there a week, decided to return to Anaheim to make their home. So their farm was sold, they packed up and last October made for California and Anaheim, leaving all their old friends. They have a fine five-acre Valencia orange grove on West Broad-st., and every day they live here they like it better.
Finished in Mahogany
The house consists of six rooms and bath. The living room, dining room and den are finished in mahogany with floors of quartered white oak. A coat closet is located just inside the front door which is oak and mahogany with a large bevel plate glass. The fireplace is a beauty, built of tile faced brick. The room is light and sunny as a window 4'6x6'6 is on the south side of the room, this being the front of the house. Besides other windows, the dining room has a window nearly ten feet long of crystal plate on the east side. These two rooms have an arch between.
The light and airy kitchen is one of the most complete anywhere to be found. Twenty large drawers affordample room for all cooking utensils besides five shelves the length of the west wall, a spice cabinet, long single table and an excellent cooler.
Large Windows in Den
The den, which opens off the living room, has large windows and a full length bevel plate mirror on the closet door. A hall connects the den bath room, and the two bed room with doors opening into the living and dining rooms. Besides the medicine chest with bevel plate mirror in the bath room, there are eight large drawers and a clothes hamper built into a recess. One bed room is finished in natural wood, while the other is in old ivory. The former has a full length mirror and amplified closet room in both.
Fruit Room
The back porch is compact with fruit room, a small broom space, toilet and refrigerator room.
The doors throut out the house are one panel.
The front porch which is eight feet wide and across the width of the house, is of cement blocks with a cement floor. The modern garage is 16x24 with cement floor and with a wash house in the rear and a cement runway leading to it.
This bungalow is one of the most modern and up-to-date to be found in Southern California, and is just being completed by F. A. Wilcox, contractor and builder, the lumber bo

3-INCH FLANGES ON BULL WHEEL BUILT FOR FAMOUS CLIMB
Local motorcycle men are already preparing for the Capistrano Hill climb, April 13. Roy Ivins is building a bull wheel with flanges three inches long which he will practice with on Brea Canyon hills. No one is allowed to practice on the Capistrano course as this is considered unfair to the foreign contestants. The Capistrano event is the greatest hill climb in the world and is now a national feature in the motorcycle world and attracts contests from a long distance.
The "Hill of Thrills" is situated a few miles south of San Juan Capistrano Mission, on the highway. The course is 500 feet long with an average grade of 50 per cent and maximum of 72 per cent.
About 30 contestants are expected for the two events. The stock event offers for prizes $100, $50, $25, $15 and $10.
The Free-for-All offers $75, $50 and $25.

FIRST SHOT IN NEW LOAN DRIVE MAR. 15
The first shot of the Victory Loan will be fired in Southern California Mar. 15th, when Henry S. McKee, chairman of the Southern California State Central Liberty Loan Committee, accompanied by R. H. Moulten, campaign manager, Leslie Henry, representative of the Federal Reserve Bank, Major J. B. Coulston, former county chairman of Los Angeles-co, and recently returned from France, will leave Los Angeles on a tour embracing every one of the Southern counties. Meetings will be held with the local Liberty Loan committees for the purpose of reviewing the county organization, ironing out any difficulties that may have arisen, and they will definitely plan for the next campaign which it is expected will start April 21st.
Announcement comes from Los Angeles that Director of Publicity Harold Janssa, has a big surprise stunt up his sleeve which will be sent to every community in Southern California during the Victory Loan drive.
