MEET RUN OFF AT
HIGH SCHOOL TODAY
HIGH SCHOOL NOTES
An interclass track meet is being run off at the high school this afternoon. Each of the four classes was entitled to enter two men in each event.
The freshmen will give a reption from 7:30 to 10 p.m. the evening of Friday, Mar. 21 for the new class that entered high school second semester.
Work on the operetta to be given next month is progressing nicely.
A baseball tourney has been arranged between the four classes to determine the class championship. Seniors will play the Juniors and the Sophomores will play the H men in the first games, the w meeting later.
The Sophomores conducted sale Tuesday. Each member of class furnished a pie and all of were sold. It is planned to ma an annual custom for the Sopho class to conduct such a sale, the needs to go to the annual.
The two companies of cadet considering the proposition of photos for the annual. The about $5 for each of the two page cuts, must be met by the ets.
A round-robin tennis tournament being played off by about 15 Each contestant plays every boy nine games, scores being tr into scorekeeper who computes winner from the one winning greatest total of games.

OLINDA OILMAN SUFFERS BROKEN BONES IN FALL
OLINDA, Mar. 10.—Special—Roy Vanetta, oil car loader for the Petroleum Development Co. at Olinda was quite seriously injured last Wednesday afternoon, when one of the planks leading from the loading rack to the car broke, and he fell a distance of 12 to 15 feet, lighting on the hard oil ground below. He sustained three broken ribs, a dislocated ankle, a broken wrist, and many minor bruises and cuts about the head and face. Mr. Vanetta has long been a resident and an employee of the Santa Fe and his many friends will be sorry to hear of his misfortune.
Mr. Schryer, a former resident of Anaheim, and for some time an employee of the Santa Fe is working in Mr. Vanetta's place.
Mr. Carl Johnston, who lives on the Union Lease but is employed on the Columbia lease, run a nail thru his foot last Wednesday.
The Columbia lease is remodeling its boarding house. The carpenters laid a new floor in the dining room last Friday. Other improvements may follow.

JOHN KOGGE BUYS ANOTHER GROVE
John Kogge has purchased the Link ten-acre orange grove and home on the Ball-rd, one-half mile west of the state highway. Mr. Kogge recently sold a 20-acre grove, situated 3 1-2 miles west of Anaheim, to Roy Johnson of Santa Anna, and is an experienced clrus man. He is planning more improvements for his new property and expects to have one of Anaheim's big producers in a short time.
The C. B. Berger Company acted as agents in both sales.
NEW SWIMMING POOL
Frank Miller, proprietor of the Glenwood hotel at Riverside, has been making some improvements upon his beach property at Arch Beach, and among other improvements contemplated by him is a swimming pool.

They took well filled baskets, among other things a large birthday cake in honor of Rev. Lewis's birthday.
Mrs. Campbell of Seattle is visiting Mrs. Campbell of the West Coast Boarding House. Later she will visit at Pasadena with her people. Arthur Campbell is still in France.
The son of Mr. and Mrs. John Green of Olinda, "Shorty" as he is known among his friends here, who has been very low with double pneumonia is reported much better.
Mr. Elliott Habbitt of the Columbia lease spent the week-end with his parents at Puente.
Mr. Beecher Dynes of the Columbia lease was a business visitor in Fullerton, Saturday.
Mr. Myers of the Santa Fe broke his right arm cranking his auto Saturday afternoon.
Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Calkins, accompanied by Mrs. Nelson of the Columbia lease spent the week-end in Los Angeles.
Mrs. A. F. Kearns of Brea visited with Mrs. Chas. Robb of the Santa Fe lease Saturday.
Mr. Virgil Clapp of the Olinda lease visited his father at Uplands over the week-end.
Mr. Charlie Robb was a business visitor in Santa Ana Monday.
Mrs. Lucy Nelson of the Columbia lease had quite a severe attack of neuritis of the brain Saturday.
Mr. Charles Robb received the sad news of the serious illness of his sister, Mrs. J. A. Hadder of Pennsylvania.
C. P. Scott and family took supper Sunday evening with their sister Mrs. W. J. Robinson of the Columbia lease.

Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Long and two children, and Helen Miranda all of the Santa Fe lease attended the show in Anaheim Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs. Sairbin and family of Olive spent the week-end with Mr. Schryer and family of the Santa Fe lease.

Mr. F. H. Bowe, Santa Fe agent at Olinda, who has been quite sick resumed his duties Monday.
