LET'S ALL BOOST
As it seems to be quite the proper thing, for people to "air their views" in the columns of our local newspapers, I beg leave of the privileged of peeping into your sanctum.
Every one, these days, seems to be bubbling over with patriotism, some in one form and some another.
As for myself, at the present, my patriotism is taking the form of boosting for our own little city. I have always believed there was a future for Anaheim when certain conditions were realized.
We are realizing those conditions rapidly and now that she is taking a boost.
I have a creed that runs something on this wise; Anaheim is the best town in Orange county, Orange county is the best county in Southern California, California is the best state in the union, and the United States is the best nation on the globe, therefore Anaheim is the mecca of the world.
We are just awakening from our lethargy and realizing the possibilities of our city and surrounding country, people from afar are learning of this fact also and now is the opportunity time to get together for a greater Anaheim.
I have always felt the need of a city park and I sincerely hope our city trustees will grasp the opportunity of a lifetime and accept Mr. Langenberger's generous offer.
With a party of friends, I was one of the many who have accepted Mr. Langenberger's gracious invitation to visit the house and grounds he has offered and I was surprised and charmed at what my eyes beheld, not knowing such beautiful grounds existed inside of our city limits.
If these grounds are secured for a city park and is to be named "Pio-

city she is not. Just take notice of maps published and you will soon see we do not get proper recognition with the outside world.
Increase our taxes? Yes of course it will, but surely we will not allow a few extra dollars to interfere with our public spirit and our city's best good.
Then again, I am a booster for better churches in Anaheim. Some of our churches are a shame and a disgrace to the Christian spirit of our community.
Some of the workers who are at this time working for a new Methodist church have told me of a few little souls in Anaheim who are groping about in darkness, that we do need a new church. Shame on such a one, they had better go over to the hills and take a Rip Van Winkle sleep and come back in 20 years and see how we can do things without them.
The most of us live in comfortable homes and surely we want the Lord, the bountiful giver of all, to have as good as we.
Last summer an out-of-town speaker, (who lives in our own county) said after making a tour of the Anaheim churches "Well, if I was a member of the Anaheim Methodist church or of the church I would worship out of doors rather than worship in such places." So let's rise up in our Christian dignity and boost for new churches in Anaheim or anything else that will put our little city in her rightful place—among the leading cities of Southern California.
Yours for a better Anaheim.
