Social and Personal Miss Fern Fergus of the Angelus Hospital, Los Angeles, accompanied by Miss Lillian Smith of the Good Samaritan hospital, spent Sunday at her home here. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Baum and Mr. and Mrs. B. Dauser visited the Orange Show at San Bernardino on Monday. Mrs. Harry Felling was a visitor in Los Angeles Monday. Miss Dora Clark has resumed her position in Falkenstein's after a week's vacation, part of which was spent with friends at Whittler. Mrs. Grace Koch and daughter, Gladys have returned from a two weeks' visit with friends at Taft. Mr. and Mrs. Frank G. Hamler and Mr. and Mrs. James McNaughten, who have been guests at the G. W. Hamler home have left for their home in Kansas City, Mo. Earl Ramella, who has been stationed with the naval reserve at San Pedro, has received his honorable discharge and returned to his home here. Mr. and Mrs. Homer Eddy of Hansen Station, attended the Elks banquet at Seal Beach last evening as the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Walter. Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Sweetwood and three sons of American Falls, Idaho, and Mrs. Alexander of Los Angeles, a resident of West Anaheim in 1891, called on Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Clark yesterday afternoon which was a pleasant surprise to them. Harold and Claude Sweetwood were in training at Kelley Field, Texas, having been honorably discharged about a month ago. Angeles Tuesday. F. L. Marsh, cashier at the South depot, and Mrs. Marsh, were Los Angeles visitors Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Willard motored Beaumont, their former home, Sunday. The marshalade factory started car of canned goods for Chicago Tuesday. E. B. Gregory, travelling freight and passenger agent for the Santa Ana were callers at the local S.P. office yesterday. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Gilts and son and Miss Hannah Horwitz motored Los Angeles Sunday, and were accompanied home by Max Horwitz, his sister, Mrs. Giltz. Harvey Johnson, who has been spending a couple of weeks here, led this morning to return to Camp Gordon, Atlanta, Ga. Mr. and Mrs. J. Casson, Mr. and Mrs. L. Hessel, and Miss Ruby Casson motored to Lo Angeles yesterday and spent the day. Mrs. Harry Fellige and sister, Mr. Jack Edwardson, spent Monday in Los Angeles on business. Mrs. Alice Williams of Santa Ana will lecture and give messages in the hall over the Plain Dealer office, Friday evening, February 21st, at 7:45 A cordial invitation is extended to all to be present. Born—To Mr. and Mrs. Ed Wagner, Friday, an 8-lb boy. RED CROSS EX.MEETS At the meeting of the Red Cross Executive Board held on Tuesday evening, the resignation of Mrs. John Johnston, chairman of the chapter production committee was accepted. Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Sweetwood and three sons of American Falls, Idaho, and Mrs. Alexander of Los Angeles, a resident of West Anaheim in 1891, called on Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Balfour, one of the surgeons of the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minn., will spend Thursday at the local sanitarium. Miss L. A. Wood spent today in Los Angeles public business. Chas. Gilts of Campo, is visiting his brother, Joe Gilts, at Fullerton, coming last Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Dan Higgins of 620 S. Helent-st. are receiving the congratulations of their friends over the arrival of a son, Sunday, Feb. 16th. The young man has been given the name of Lyle L. Mrs. T. N. Hughes of Independence, Mo., is here on an extended visit at the home of H. F. Hughes. Mrs. H. F. Hughes has just returned from Long Beach where she spent three weeks visiting at the home of her son and his wife. Born—to Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Boon, 9 a.m. Sunday, a son, weight eight pounds. C. C. RED CROSS EX.MEETS At the meeting of the Red Cross Executive Board held on Tuesday evening, the resignation of Mrs. John Johnston, chairman of the chapter production committee was accepted with regret. Mrs. Johnston has been one of the most faithful workers in the local organization, and it is due to her untiring efforts that the work has moved smoothly, and the quotas ready on time. Mrs. c. A. Mullinix was unanimously elected to fill the vacancy. JR. C. E. ENTERTAINED A very pleasant affair was given recently at the home of Miss Margie Shive, N. Claudina-st., when she entertained for the members of the Junior C. E. society of the Presbyterian church, of which she is the junior superintendent. Games of various kinds were played, and late in the afternoon dainty refreshments were served. There were about 40 present and a most pleasant afternoon spent. W. C. T. U. MEETS The W. C. T. U. held an all-day meeting at the Presbyterian church today for the purpose of tying comforters for the Home Center for Girls in Los Angeles. Lunch was served at noon, each lady bringing a lunch box. PARTY BY GRAHAMS Mr. and Mr. Albert Graham were host and hostess last evening in Los Angeles at a dinner and theatre party in honor of Harvey Johnson, who has been here on a two weeks' furlough, leaving this morning for camp. The other guests were Miss Helen Johnson and Miss Olga Eggers. MUSIC BY FELLINGE'S Fellinge's Orchestra will furnish music for the dances at Orange tonight, La Habra tomorrow night and Yorba Linda Friday evening. On Saturday evening at the Odd Fellow's Hall, this city, a Washington's Birthday dance will be held. Mrs. Dora Thomas, Mrs. C. Miss Irma Mills has recovered from her recent slight indisposition, and returned to her school at Long Beach. Frank Baum and Ben Danser took in the San Bernardino Orange Show Monday. Mr. and Mrs. John Taggart and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Taggart spent the week-end at San Diego. August Matthews left over the S. P. Tuesday for Laramie, Wyo. There was a good attendance present and the afternoon profitably spent.
