EDEN OFFERS 2 BILLS
Assemblyman Walter Eden has introduced two bills, one to raise the salary of the superior judges of Orange-co from $4,000 a year to $5000, and the other to declare the wasting of underground wafers a public nuisance.
Eden has been made chairman of the committee on rules.
The proposal to raise judges' salaries was first considered six or eight years ago, and has been up for consideration a number of times since. It has been pointed out that the salary here was less than in most of the Southern California counties. The salary raise will take effect two years from now. Half a superior judge's salary is paid by the state and the other half by the county.
The bill introduced for protection of the underground water supply has been drawn up at the instance of the Farm Bureau, and is aimed to make provision whereby a district attorney
