600 Compete in Halloween Art Contest
ARCADIA, Oct. 28—More than 600 local school children today were awaiting judges' decisions on Halloween art painted on some 240 store windows throughout this city in the 11th annual contest sponsored by the Arcadia Lions club.
More than 2000 pounds of powdered paint were used for the decorative efforts of the students, fifth grade through high school. The program helps put the entire city in a festive mood for the Halloween holiday and also serves to curb vandalism, primarily in the form of window damage.
