ANAHEIM — The biggest Halloween party in the nation will be thrown here next week end when an estimated 125,000 persons are expected to take part in the 30th annual festivities.
First in the country to stage a community-wide Halloween celebration to keep youngsters out of mischief, the whole town is working to make this year's party better than ever.
Major event is the parade — billed as the biggest night procession in the country —

probably the biggest outpouring of artistic talent at one
time. Two thousand costumed
customers will sit down at
an eggs-and-hot cakes breakfast in the City Park Saturday morning.
Theme for the celebration
is “Out of This World.” That
was the inspiration for the
costumes of entrants in the
“Miss Halloween” contest
and will be the idea behind
many of the youngsters’ window drawings. One whole section of the big parade will be devoted to theme floats.
Festival Queen
Reigning over the festivties will be Rella Cherry, 17,

who represents “Miss Rainnow.” Her attendants are Carol Swank, 15, “Space Queen,” and Barbara Chmiél, 16, “Miss Lightning.”

moving at 7:15 p.m. Saturday,
will include almost 3000 persons and 200 separate units.
There’ll be 36 floats, 17 bands,
equestrian groups and comedy
acts. Floats designed by
Walt Disney Studios in Hollywood will make up the first

Pan, Pinocchio and others
will be there. Themes of the
other divisions are “Americana,” “Out of This World,”
“Halloween of the Ages” and
“City of Good Living,” an
