TAG DAY COMMITTEE
TO START WORK AT
9 O'CLOCK
The Anaheim Tag Day committee for the Volunteers of America request all those who received invitations to assist in selling tags report at headquarters in the Chamber of Commerce soon after 9 o'clock tomorrow morning to receive their tags and instructions.
Through the cordial co-operation of the merchants of the city there will be a number of useful and pretty gifts for those securing the largest amounts for their tags. The first prize will be a merchandise order for $5.00 given by the S. Q. R. store. Hartfield Jewelry store has offered a gold Eversharp pencil to the one who collects the second largest sum while the Mullinix Drug company has given the third, a Brownie Kodak. The Prince Store will give the fourth, a Vanity Box. The fifth is a two pound box of chocolates from the Cherry Blossom and the Weber Book Store will give the sixth, a box of fine stationery. The California Theater will present a pass good for two movie tickets to those who do not win prizes but who collect at least $2.50 for their tags.
Everyone who is willing to give a quarter, dime or half dollar to this worthy cause is asked to take and wear the tag, for only in this way can it be known that they have given and thereby save themselves from second appeals.

Yesterday two detectives saw a well-dressed young woman strolling down Lexington avenue. Beside her played a frisky white poodle. Suddenly the dog stopped with exactly the same movement as a pointer when it has spotted a covey of quail. Then the poodle ran to a strange man. There was a short hurried conversation between the man and woman. She lifted a flap on the poodle's leather collar, then slipped a package to the man, the detectives say.
In prison is "Snowbird Molly," the first "dope peddler," and her mistress, Stella Fiegel. The man is also in the same jail. All are charged with having narcotics in their possession.
