Wednesday, December 14, 1921. Society ESTHEA, A: PEMBER, Editor Telephone 540 MISS DUMKE HONOR GUEST AT SHOWER Alice Pannier, assisted by her sister Ruth, entertained a party of friends at her home at Glen Rose Ranch last night, the occasion being a kitchen shower, complimenting Lillian Dumke whose wedding will be a social event of next week. The evening was spent playing games until the bride-elect was called into another room where a clothes line was filled with many gifts from her friends. Late in the evening light refreshments were served to Anita Herzler, Mabel Betz, Sydja Betz, Theresa Siewart, Minnie Wallace, Edna Hoculi, Maude Livingston, Lydia Sievick, Lucy Wood, the honor guest, Lillian Dumke and Gladys and Aljce Zahl. PARENT-TEACHERS CLUB HEARS WAR TALK At the Parent-Teachers' meeting at the Junior High School, Mr. M. M. Fishback of Orange Union High School gave a very interesting talk on the "Battlefields of the Late War" and the necessarily limited conditions for education for years to come of a people depressed in spirit and burdened with debt. He showed the audience a bonifide passport and told of the many things necessary to be done, even to paying one's income tax before Uncle Sam is willing to part with one of his nephews. He prefaced his talk with a few incidents of the ocean voyage and his traveling companions. A chorus of girls and boys, accompanied by the school orchestra, delighted the association with music. Eight little girls from the fifth grade sang a Christmas song about "Santa Claus." The president, Mrs. C. W. Austin, presided at the business meeting. FULLERTON MAN WEDS ANAHEIM GIRL J. C. S.
