MISS DUMKE HONOR
GUEST AT SHOWER
Alice Pannier, assisted by her sister Ruth, entertained a party of friends at her home at Glen Rose Ranch last night, the occasion being a kitchen shower, complimenting Lillian Dumke whose wedding will be a social event of next week. The evening was spent playing games until the bride-elect was called into another room where a clothes line was filled with many gifts from her friends. Late in the evening light refreshments were served to Anita Herzler, Mabel Betz, Sydja Betz, Theresa Siewart, Minnie Wallace, Edna Hoculi, Maude Livingston, Lydia Sievick, Lucy Wood, the honor guest, Lillian Dumke and Gladys and Aljce Zahl.
PARENT-TEACHERS CLUB
HEARS WAR TALK
At the Parent-Teachers' meeting at the Junior High School, Mr. M. M. Fishback of Orange Union High School gave a very interesting talk on the "Battlefields of the Late War" and the necessarily limited conditions for education for years to come of a people depressed in spirit and burdened with debt.
He showed the audience a bonifide passport and told of the many things necessary to be done, even to paying one's income tax before Uncle Sam is willing to part with one of his nephews. He prefaced his talk with a few incidents of the ocean voyage and his traveling companions.
A chorus of girls and boys, accompanied by the school orchestra, delighted the association with music. Eight little girls from the fifth grade sang a Christmas song about "Santa Claus." The president, Mrs. C. W. Austin, presided at the business meeting.

Miss Levine has been a resident of Anaheim for three years, having come here from New York. She is popular socially. Mr. and Mrs. Garrick have the good will and wishes of a large circle of friends, notwithstanding that some of their most intimate friends feel that they did not secure a "square deal," the wedding having taken place without their knowledge, though not without their full approval.

WHY NOT ENJOY THIS CHISTMAS WITHOUT THIS DRUDGERY
For wives and mothers, Christmas too often means hours of preparation—not only busy shopping excursions and hours devoted to making things but the more trying task of getting the house in shape for the holiday homecoming.
This year let us give you more time for the vital, essential things by having us take the heavy drudgery off your hands. There are so many things to be washed and cleaned, the family apparel, the table linen and the bed linen.
We will gladly take care of all this for you, washing and ironing things just as you like them. And we will do it promptly at a cost that is trivial when you consider all the time and energy that we save you. Just step to the telephone and call the Anaheim Laundry, Phone 18, and your worries about having things clean will be over.—Adv.
