BUENA PARK NOTES The Buena Park lodge of Eastern Star installed officers for the coming year with the beautiful and impressive ceremony last Saturday evening. The lodge room was beautifully decorated for the occasion with fern, peper boughs and poinsettas. Those who were installed are as follows: Worthy matron, Mrs. Ilo Calder; worthy patron, Roy Eberhart; associate matron, Mrs. Margaret Naylor; conductress, Ruth Winters; associate conductress, Mrs. Edith Mann; chapelain, Mrs. Lottie Haggarty; secretary, Mrs. Lucia Little; treasurer, Mrs. Pauline Johnson; marshal, Mrs Linnie McComber; organist, Hester Jaynes; warder, Mrs. George Miller; sentinel, Mr. Ledford; Electa, Mrs. Lillian Jones; Martha, Mrs. Martha Shimm; Esther, Mrs. Alda Rodefer; Ruth, Mrs. Edith Miller; Ada, Mrs. Penelope Cady. The guests were entertained with a very enjoyable program, each number being very ably rendered. Mr. Sutton of Yorba Linda sang four delightful Irish melodies and little Dorothy Winters favored with a whistling solo. A reading by Mrs. Pitts of Los Angeles was much enjoyed, also the reading by Mrs. A, E. Smothers, Mrs. C. L. McComber presented the retiring matron, Mrs. George Thomas, with a beautiful pen, as a token of appreciation from the members of the Star. Mrs. Thomas has been appointed district deputy grand matron for the coming year. The guests adjourned to the banquet room down stairs where delicious refreshments were served and a social hour enjoyed. Miss Zerelda Ingram of Bell was the week end guest of her sister, Mrs John Robertson. Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Warren and family spent Saturday in Los Angeles. Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Robeson and Mr and Mrs. L. J. Robeson and children motored to Laguna Beach and San Juan Capistrano on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Bishop of Long Beach attended the Eastern Star in stallation on Saturday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Golden enjoyed the week end at their cottage at Laguna Beach. BREA NEWS F. W. SCHMIDT 177 W. Mrs. Harry Minner of Anaheim was the guest of Miss Marion Sutphen Sunday. Mrs. Samuel Jones and son Jesse of Covina were guests of J. H. Gnagy and wife in Brea Sunday. George Schuppert and family of Brea spent Sunday at Mt. Wilson. Frank Guard and wife of Brea made a trip to their former home, San Bernardino, Monday. Mrs. Ray Emery was in Los Angeles Tuesday.
