Frank Wakeley's Golden Dome started drilling out yesterday and today and is bailing for a water test. The cementing was done at 2860 feet. The Gypay Oil Syndicate now listed as one of the small companies that have made good at Huntington Beach has a daily production of 450 barrels. No. 1 is making 200 and No. 2 is doing 250 barrels. Columbia 3-1, the Petroleum Midway's first well, still continues to make close to 100 barrels daily. The Fisher Oil Company has a string of left hand pipe at work getting out the lost drill pipe at 3150 feet. Progress is being made. Jack Doyle, famous fight promoter, intends to assume the role of an oil producer. Doyle secured property north and east of the Oceanic's No. 1 and has a rig up for the first well. Drilling on the General Petroleum's Bixby No. 1 is now close to 3900 feet. The formation shows sandy shale, but no oil indications. The National Crude drilled out the cement at 3100 feet and is now balling for a water test. Success on shutting off the water will mean that this company will be on the production list soon. The Oceanic Oil Company is bailing for a test on the water at 3220. The fluid is balling down and the hole fills rapidly with oil. Conditions are rather favorable for a shutoff. No. 3 set a string of 10 inch at 2322. The Gypsy drilled and completed three wells without an accident, a mishap, or a fishing job and has made quite an enviable record for itself. The Holly Sugar Company failed to get a shut off at 3408 and is getting ready to drill deeper and set a second string of pipe, 8 inch. Huntington Central No. 1 is now producing about 225 barrels a day. Regular shipments are being made from the well now. It is the intention to drill out on No. 2 before the end of the week, pipe being set here at 3645. An attempt was made to clean out and get production at Huntington Owners No. 1 with compressed air. Intention was to force air down through the tubing and produce the oil. The well seems to carry a lot of sand and for this reason the compressed air did not prove effective. The well is being cleaned out to go back on the rods and tubing. The Huntington Royalty Oil Company is a new concern that has just made its appearance at Huntington Beach. The new company is backed by W. W. Bush and H. E. Hinkley of Ontario and the W. P. Weaver Drilling Company of Huntington Beach. The Krohn-Suttle Oil Company, one of the newest concerns at Huntington Beach, had the misfortune to have its first new rig to blow down. The rig leveled by the wind is being rebuilt. Drilled to 3725 feet and showing up splendidly the Miller Syndicate had made preparations to set 8 inch at the above depth. On running in the oil string it was found that it would be building rig. The Sun Oil Company's test well No. 3 is now drilling at 2635 and is in sandy brown shale. Drilling is going nicely and some good showings have been logged. No. 4 sanded up and is cleaning out. No. 1 stands cemented at 2436 and No. 5 is a rig. E.J.Miley's State Consolidated No. 1 is drilling by pipe at 3100 feet, and has 200 feet more to go before getting on bottom. Seven wells is the drilling program for the Talbert Oil Company on the Hurlbert property west of the Vista Del Mar's No. 2. Lumber is on the ground for No. 1 and others are to follow soon. The Talbert Oil Company's producer is running around 200 barrels. The Union Oil Company is taking no chances with Newlands No. 2. On running in the oil string it was found that it would not go through the ten inch. The setting of the 8 inch will probably be delayed a few days. E. J. Miley has spudded in and started on No. 3. The depth of the hole is now 600 feet and some fast drilling time can be expected on No. 3. No. 2 set pipe at 2569, the 10-inch. Miley No. 1 continues to produce about 450 barrels daily. The Miley-Keck Oil Company has decided not to move the rig at No. 1 and is putting in the rotary to drill by and on at 2590. No. 2 at 2920 continues to make about 35 barrels a day. No. 3 is a rig. No. 4, the big well, continues to hold steadily at 400 barrels. No. 5 is rigging up and will be ready to go in a few days. The cement was drilled out at O'Donnel No. 1 at 3510, the results of the bailing test is to be passed on today or tomorrow by the state mining bureau. Experts are looking for a big well. Conditions seem favorable for a nice well at that. Owing to being sanded up and the muddy condition of Pantages No. 1, this well has lost about ten days' production. The well seems to have heavily sanded up and it will be some little job to get cleaned out and going again. Petitfells Syndicate No. 2 is now one of the big wells of the field. Yesterday's flow production ran close to 700 barrels. No. 3 is drilling at 2000 feet in brown shale. The Petroleum Company has made but little progress on Brown No. 1 and fishing continues at 4030 for drill pipe. Porter No. 2 is now a completed rig. Harriman No. 1 is a rig and Krahaling No. 1 stands suspended at 685 feet. Vollmer Meyer No. 1 at 3450 failed to flow and the Petroleum Midway is swabbing the well further in the hope that it will start. Smythe No. 1 at 3620 failed to produce when swabbed and is now being tubed for pumping. Elliott No. 1 drilled out at 2800 and is ready for a water test. Columbia 2-1 at 3400 is showing up nicely. BREA-FULLERTON At 2120 feet the drill pipe twisted off in the Delke-Thomas Syndicate, leaving 14 stands in the hole. Most of the pipe is now out and drilling will be going ahead again in a few days. The drilling has been mostly in hard sand. The Columbia Oil Company has No. 39 drilling in the oil sand at 2350 and this well will be going on production soon. At Brea Columbia, Fisher No. 2 stands cemented at 3320 and Pico No. 2-at 3500 is in sandy shale. Pueentel-A, the deep test well, is now drilling at 1325 in the hard sand. On the old Graham-Loftus lease the Union has one well drilling, Graham-Loftus No. 53. Drilling on iron at 3200 feet, progress is slow. LONG BEACH Ramsey-Municipal No. 1, the big well that started off looking like a 1000 barrel producer, has settled down to a steady flow of 400 barrels. This well was completed at 3121, the 10 inch was set at 2470, and 3120 feet of 6 inch was put in. The well is making 22.5 gravity oil and is free from sand and water. Until Mr. Ramsey arrives from Oklahoma no plans for further development work will be given out. The California-Mexican Petroleum Syndicate's No. 1 on Signal Hill is scheduled for the next producer. Drilling stopped at 3086 and about 200 feet of as rich an oil sand as can be found in any well was drilled through, and the management have every reason to believe that a six or seven hundred barrel well will be brought in. The screen pipe is in and the washing down process is under way. Last week's report referred to this company as the California-Mexican Petroleum Company, an error being made in the name. All information under the head of Cal-Mex Petroleum Company should refer to California Mexican Petroleum Syndicate. The Crest Oil Company run in a string of 8 inch and recemented at 2932 feet. A test of the shutoff has been made and drilling is now going into the sands at 2985. Crest Con- Wednesday, December 7, 1921. C. L. THOMPSON Phone Fullerton 515 R. H. THOMPSON THOMPSON BROS.
