Vista Del Mar No. 2 is still in the priming stage. Sand continues to menace the production and to date no satisfactory figure has been secured on the well. At 3320 where the 8 inch was set the United Security Syndicate No. 1 showed up very encouragingly and some think the oil will be there when the cement plug is drilled out. Samples were quite rich in oil and gas.
The Union Oil Company's two producing wells, Copeland Nos. 1 and 2 aggregate close to 600 barrels daily. Newlands No. 2 at 2900 is drilling in brown shale and showing some oil indications. The Laguna Oil Association started drilling out the cement and making a water test yesterday. Drilled to 3250 feet where the 8 inch was set the well showed some twenty feet of oil sand. At 4500 feet the Standard Oil Company's test well at Garden Grove is showing some colors in the brown shale, the well's first showing.
RICHFIELD
Completed at 3050 feet the Amalgamated Oil Company's Thompson No. 1 settled down to 185 barrels. The oil is running 19 gravity. Breen No. 2 is ready to drill out the cement and go ahead at 3090. The rig for Bahya No. 3 is up and rigging up work is scheduled to start in a few days. Page 1-A at 2000 feet has almost recovered all the hole lost in the first location. Kammerer No. 1 shows 1875 feet of hole and is going nicely.
Drilling at 4225 in sandy brown shale, R. D. Clark's Wetzell No. 1 is showing a little gas and some colors. The outlook for this deep well is a little encouraging to say the least.
W. M. Keck, the peer of drilling contractors, has Merchants Petroleum No. 3 rigged up and will spud in probably today. No. 2 shows almost 2600 feet of hole. The drilling here has been slow on account of the long run of hard sand.
From a certain New York office of one of the big oil companies of California will come a message determining the next move made for Placentia Pacific Oil Company. The property is attractive and the Placentia Pacific has had no difficulty in soliciting some help to develop the property.
The best that the Petroleum Midway's deep Richfield-Yorba test well will show under the ether at 4825 is a little color. The drill is in sand, but the sand does not seem to carry much oil. The deep test well on the Yarnell No. 9 has increased its production from a 100 to 160 barrels. The oil is better than 25 gravity. Carter No. 1 at 4380 was plugged back to 42222 and that point is now being tested out.

According to the schedule the Placentia Oil Company will drill out the cement today. Success at shutting off water at 3008 feet means that this company will have a producer soon. Some very good showings of oil have been exhibited and the Placentia company can almost bank on getting into production soon now.
Endeavoring to get a share of the deep production in Richfield the Chansler-Canfield-Midway has Bradford Community down 4750 and drilling at 3855. The Richfield Giant is anxious to have the well come in in the best of condition if it will come in at all.
