Becomes Bride of Lloyd Shrode
Beautiful in its simplicity and charming in its attractiveness, was the wedding of Miss Valle Pember and Lloyd Shrode, held at the White Temple last night. Immediately before the ceremony Mrs. C. E. Harbeben sang "O Promise Me," with Dale Hamilton Evans at the organ. Just at 8:30 o'clock Mr. Evans played the Lohengrin wedding march and the bridegroom, Lloyd Shrode and his best man, William Schumacher, and Dr. James Allen Gelfssinger entered from the left and right of the altar to wait for the bride and her party. From the rear of the church, Miss Hazel Withee, dressed in apricot georgette crepe over silver cloth with hat to match, came slowly down the aisle. She carried a bouquet of white carnations and maiden hair fern. Following her was the sister of the bride, Miss Esther Pember, dressed in bright blue over silver cloth with hat to match and bouquet of carnations and ferns, Mrs. Edyth Kemper, also a sister of the bride, followed Miss Pember. She was dressed in a frock of old rose and silver cloth with hat to match, carrying carnations. The ushers entered from the right of the church. They were Arthur Kemper and Jack Kemper.
Preceding the bride was the little ring bearer and flower girl. Louis Huntington and Little Miss Margaret Shrode, niece of the bridegroom. Louis was dressed in white middy suit and carried a large pink rosebud with the ring hidden in its center. Little Margaret, daintily frocked in pink hung to the floor. Shrimp at the change single ring ceremony which Mr. Evans "Believe Me If all Young Charms." At the bridal party left strains of Mendel March and greeted reception hall.

hung to the floor. She met the bridegroom at the chancel railing. The single ring ceremony was used, during which Mr. Evans played softly, "Believe Me If all Those Endearing Young Chärms." After the ceremony the bridal party left the church to the strains of Mendelsohn's Wedding March and greeted their guests in the reception hall.
The church was decorated with baskets of baby pink and white rose buds placed along the chancel railing. Small palms and ferns were used for a green background. A large archway of green with a wedding bell extending from the center was arranged in the center of the chancel under which the bride and bridegroom stood.
The bridal party and Miss Vera O'Rourke immediate relatives, and the out of town relatives of Mr. and Mrs. Shrode, were guests at an informal reception at the Pember home on West street, after which the young couple left for a ten days' honeymoon trip. On their return they will be at home to their friends on South West street.
Mrs. Shrode's going away costume was a tailored embroidered Veldyne brown suit, with a red feathered hat and brown boots and gloves.
Mrs. Lloyd Shrode is the daughter of Mrs. R. R. Pember and has a host of friends in Anaheim who wish her much happiness. Mr. Shrode is the son of Mr. Shrode of Cino. He has been a resident of Anaheim for the last few years.
The out of town guests at the reception were Mr. Shrode of Chino, Mr. son of Mr. Shrode of Cino. He has and Mrs. Clyde C. Hurley and family of Glendale, Mr. and Mrs. Dick Shrode and family of Lankershim, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Betts and daughter Marian, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Newberry, all of Long Beach.
the composer, Mrs. R. L. Coons gave a short sketch of the life of the composer. This was followed with a short musical program of the compositions of the great musician, Mrs. G. H. Goodale gave a piano solo; Mrs. W. B. Holland accompanied by her daughter, Miss Gretchen, sang vocal numbers from Mozart's compositions.
Miss Roe, a high school teacher, gave a vocal number. Afterwards a social hour was enjoyed during which refreshments were served.
RECEPTION FOR NEW MEMBERS AND VISITORS
Chispa Chapter, O. E. S., entertained the Orange Chapter and seventy-three initiates of the year last night. Two candidates, Mrs. Mary Mitchell and Mrs. Gillenette were initiated into the local lodge with the Orange Chapter having charge of initiation services. After the close of the chapter, the Orange visitors, the seventy-three new members and the local members were invited to the social hall where a reception was held. A luncheon was served to more than 150 Eastern Star members. The decorations used on the tables were in the red color scheme.
Mrs. E. H. Adams, worthy matron of Chispa Chapter, acted as toastmistress. The first speaker was Walter Ward, first initiate of the year; second speaker, James Burson, first affiliate member of the year, J. A. Clayes, worthy patron, gave a short talk welcoming the initiates.
Mrs. Drumm, worthy matron of the Orange chapter and Mr. Wettlin, worthy patron of that chapter, gave short talks, Mr. Drumm, a visitor from Orange concluded the program with a talk on the work of the chapters.
FULLERTON FOOTBALL SQUAD ENTERTAINED
Mrs. Osborne entertained the first team of the F. U. H. S. Saturday evening at a very delicious dinner of turkey and all the good things that go with it and the eighteen seated at that table enjoyed one of the most brilliant affairs of the season, after which there were fourteen girls invited to enjoy the remainder of the evening in games and music.
During the course of the evening a new captain for the next football season was appointed and fell to "Ted" Shipkey.
The table was very beautifully decorated in the F. U. H. S colors or red and white, red roses and white carnations with maiden hair fern and were used to carry out this pretty color scheme, also red candles and white candle sticks.
A "T" was formed of the table with a huge bonquet or roses at the head of the "T."
Those present were:
Ted Shipkey, George Osborne, Harold Osborne, Brownfield, Aker, White, Earle, Caldahan, Arrous, Carpenter, Wagner, McDermott, Elders, Salters, Smith and Misses Florence Allen, Alma Bashley, Martha Ooats, Alma Cratty, Fern Delfsinger, Mae Vance, Mavis Ball, Fern Keller, Larene Underwood, Mr. and Mrs. Osborne; also Smith, the coach, and Lewis, the athletic manager.
ROYAL NEIGHBORS ENJOY MEETING
The Royal Neighbors of Anaheim met Monday afternoon in the Odd Felows hall. A short business meeting was held with a social hour afterwards. The birthday hostesses of the month had charge of the entertainment. There was a good attendance.

Mr. and Mrs. A. G., Biom and Mrs. Biom's mother, Mme. M. J., Pellot, spent the last week end in Los Angeles. While there they attended the thirty-first wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Schwartz. A reception was given with a wedding supper served late in the evening.

EBELL BAZAAR
DECEMBER 9 AND 10
The Christmas bazaar planned by the Anaheim Ebell society will be held at the Buick garage on South Los Angeles street December 9 and 10. The booths will be open all day and it may be planned to hold them open during the evening. Home made dainties, clever aprons, fancy work articles, lingerie garments will be on sale. The money received from this sale will be used by the club in their work. The members of the club have devoted a large amount of their time to this work according to the leaders of the domestic science section of the club, and expect to sell their articles for a reasonable sum.
