Mr. and Mrs. Jack Welsh and two sons left Thursday for San Diego after a week spent among friends in Yorba Linda.
Miss Maria Walker came home from Whittier college Friday and spent the week end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Walker of Yorba Linda.
Mr. and Mrs. Hummell accompanied by Miss Elizabeth Calvert and Miss Mathes of Yorba Linda attended the Baptist association at the First Baptist church in Santa Ana Thursday.

T. J. Crawford, proprietor of the Crawford Lunch in Brea, has purchased of Mr. Franks the restaurant at Placentia and will inaugurate an all night service there as he has at Brea. H. T. Diggs, recently of Poona, will be placed in charge of the
Brea lunch room, and Mr. Crawford will divide his time between the two places of business.
The ladies of the Christian church under the auspices of the Ladies' Aid society, ill hold their annual bazaar and serve chicken pie dinner on Tuesday, Dec. 6, serving of the chicken dinner starting at 5:30 o'clock. This annual event has become one of the occasions happily looked forward to by the folks of Brea.
Mrs. Chas, Kioth has returned from a two weeks' visit with her daughter, Mrs. K. K. Burnham, living at Burbank.

O. J. Crawford, who has been helping at the Crawford Lunch, returned
to Taft Friday, where he will resume
work with the Potter Oil company.
Ray Swope accompanied him and expects to go to work for the same company.
A. D. Yost and wife returned from
Fresno Thursday, where they attended
the funeral of Willie Hoxey, brother
of Mrs. Yost.
The hottest marine climate in the
world is probably that of the Red Sea, in summer. On this sea the thermometer on board ship has been known to remain at 98 degrees Fahrenheit for three consecutive days and nights, and it occasionally reaches 105 in the shade.
