Miss Maria Walker came home from Whittier college Friday and spent the week end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Walker of Yorba Linda. Mr. and Mrs. Hummell accompanied by Miss Elizabeth Calvert and Miss Mathes of Yorba Linda attended the Baptist association at the First Baptist church in Santa Ana Thursday. Ray Swope accompanied him and expects to go to work for the same company. A. D. Yost and wife returned from Fresno Thursday, where they attended the funeral of Willie Hoxey, brother of Mrs. Yost. The hottest marine climate in the world is probably that of the Red Sea, in summer. On this sea the thermometer on board ship has been known to remain at 98 degrees Fahrenheit for three consecutive days and nights, and it occasionally reaches 105 in the shade.
