Saturday, November 12, 1921. FAGEOL Sales and Service J. J. DeVaux 328 W. Center St. Anaheim News Notes of the Oil Fields LONG BEACH Water broke in around the ten inch in the Crest well and now it will be necessary to pull the 8-in. and re-cement. The ten inch was set at 2819. The re-cementing is to be done at once. Crest-Consolidated is scheduled to start drilling before the end of the week. The Dabney Oil Syndicate is now drilling at close to 3600. The formation is sandy shale, carried a little gas but shows no oil. Difficulty in getting a shut-off with the ten inch at 3307 has lead the Oceanic to consider going in with 8-in. and trying for a shut-off at 3310 or a little deeper. The matter is up for the Mining Bureau's consideration. The well is showing a lot of oil and all that stands between the Oceanic and production now is a water shut off. The Standard Oil Company's Bixby No. 1 now the deepest well drilling in Southern California is now making hole in the blue shale at 5600 feet. Chances for a producer are slim. It is the intention to continue drilling to 6000 feet and make a thorough test well. Alamitos No. 1 is at 2600, Sylvester at 800 and Lomita No. 1 at 700.
