During the evening the doorbell was violently rung and without ceremony in marched a company of white-robed ghosts, who solemnly glided through the house and vanished, leaving the astonished company quite awe-striken at the supernatural appearance. At a late hour the guests departed with many good wishes for the health and happiness of Mrs. Garrison, who feelingly expressed her appreciation and thanks for the pleasures of the evening.
