NOTICE OF FILING OF COMMISSIONER'S REPORT In the Matter of Opening and Extending West Chartress Street in the city of Anaheim. Notice is hereby given that, WHEREAS, in persuance to a resolution entitled "In the matter of opening and extending West Chartress street in the city of Anaheim. Resolution ordering work," which said resolution was passed and adopted by the board of trustees of the city of Anaheim on the 27th day of January, 1921, and was approved by the President of the board of trustees of said city of Anaheim on the 27th day of January, 1921, Chas. Eygabroad, Geo. M. Ross and Fred C. Rimpau, were appointed commissioners to assess the benefits and damages and have general supervision of the proposed work or improvement referred to in said resolution, to-wit: The opening and extending of West Chartress street in the city of Anaheim from a point one hundred sixty and twenty-five hundredths (160.25) feet west of the west line of North Palm street in said city to a point one hundred sixteen and eight tenths (116.8) feet east of the east line of Rush street in said city, until the completion of said proposed work or improvement in compliance with law and the statutes in such cases made and provided; and WHEREAS, said commissioners have made their assessment of benefits and damages and have made a written report thereof to the board of trustees of the city of Anaheim and have attached to said report a plat of the assessment district showing the lands to be taken for said work or improvement and the lands assessed, showing the relative location of each district, block, lot or portion of lot and its dimensions so far as said commissioners could reasonably ascertain Oakland Sixes NEW PRICES f. o. b. Anaheim Touring and Roadsters $1375 C.C. & G.R. JONES 226 South Los Angeles Street Phone 41 suant to the statute made and provided, the undersigned, Edward B. Merritt, city clerk of the city of Anaheim, does hereby give notice of the said filing of said report and plat, and notice is hereby given that all persons interested may be and they are hereby required to show cause if any, before the board of trustees of the city of Anaheim on or before Tuesday the 20th day of July, 1921, up to the hour of five o'clock p.m. of said last named day, why said report should not be confirmed, and said last named day is the day fixed by the clerk for that purpose. All objections shall be in writing and filed with the city clerk of the city of Anaheim at his office in the city of Anaheim, county of Orange, state of California. Reference is hereby made to said At this evening it was observed by daylight only in order to watch formation with the closest attention. Fowler No. 2 spudded in and is drilling at 600 feet. Huntington 1-A is flowing by head and will probably settle down to four hundred barrel well. Huntington 2-A is drilling at 2600 in shale. Pearce No. 1 shows 2950 feet of hole and Huntington No. 3 stands cemented. The Argonaut Oil Company after second cementing is bailing its Turle No. 1 to bring in. The water appears to have been shut off, but the sand seems to be holding up the oil and prevents the well from starting oil flowing as expected. After drilling a 120 feet deeper than Bolsa Chica Oil Company's No. 1 failed to come in as expected last week. Bailing showed that the well had lost oil but not sufficient gas to maintain the column so the flow would be continuous. An attempt to raise the 8 inch carrying the screen pipe resulted in the pipe parting. It is the intention now to get the 8 inch together and test out for production a little higher up. In event the test is not successful the well will go deeper. The Edens Syndicate well is now production. While nothing settled can yet be obtained on the output looks like a 350 or 400 barrel well was completed at 2339. Sand is still giving some trouble. The production is carrying some water, but this is expected to diminish as the well clears up. At 2200 feet the Gypsy Syndicate struck the oil sand, pulled back 2195 and cemented the 10 inch. At Huntington Central No. 1 the inch is being pulled and the well will be drilled deeper. The productivity dropped recently from 350 to 60 barrels and for this reason it was believed that a deeper well would produce better. The Hurst Oil Company seems to have having a little difficulty in getting No. 1 back to production. A week swabbing has failed to make the water flow again. Cemented for bottom water the well was shut down three weeks. Hurst No. 2 is a rig, and No. 3 the lumber is on the ground. The brown shale struck in the Miller Syndicate well at 2400 continues at 3000, the present depth and that well is looking extremely good. The Moser Special No. 1 has made of a nice well. Drilled once with a well went on production la... work or improvement in compliance with law and the statutes in such cases made and provided; and WHEREAS, said commissioners have made their assessment of benefits and damages and have made a written report thereof to the board of trustees of the city of Anaheim and have attached to said report a plat of the assessment district showing the lands to be taken for said work or improvement and the lands assessed, showing the relative location of each district, block, lot or portion of lot and its dimensions so far as said commissioners could reasonably ascertain the same, and that said commissioners have done all things by law required of them to be done and said report and plat contain all matters required therein to be done in the manner, form and substance as required by law; NOW, THEREFORE, notice is hereby given that said report and plat were filed in the office of the city clerk of the city of Anaheim on the 25th day of May, A.D. 1921. Comment on Today's News By HENRY JAMES President Harding has been dining a group of western bankers, and one of them is said to have dropped a verbal bombshell that rattled the China. This was George M. Reynolds of Chicago. Henry M. Robinson, leading financier of California, was among the guests and perhaps will be good enough to tell all about it when he reaches home. In brief, Mr. Reynolds took issue with the cabinet plan ascribed to Herbert Hoover for rehabilitation of Europe, saying that the United States could better afford to cancel the debts of the allies. For the plan he attacked he blamed Wall Street, thus introducing a novel feature, for the understanding outside of monetary circles is that bankers do not take issue with Wall street. Considering the general confidence in Hoover, and considering also that Reynolds is regarded as wise in counsel, it is all very confusing to the plain citizen whose relation to the problem is supposed to lie in paying his taxes. According to recent reports the great Essen works employ more men than before the war, and are devoted wholly to production of the agencies of industry and peace. They are turning out everything from locomotives to false teeth. It would not appear from this that German activities are at a low ebb, or that the energies of the people have been strangled notably. It is said that a carload of string beans has been destroyed at San Francisco. Here is a hard nut to crack. When food is destroyed for the purpose of controlling the market an economic crime is being committed. It seems that the beans not only could not be sold at any price, but that the effort to give them to charity was futile. Certainly a strange condition in a world where many persons are hungry. When food is destroyed for the purpose of controlling the market, an economic crime is being committed. It seems that the beans not only could not be sold at any price, but that the effort to give them to charity was futile. Certainly a strange condition in a world where many persons are hungry. Indictment of the big milk distributors of Los Angeles seems to be a step in the direction of accomplishing justice. They are charged with a sort of double-headed conspiracy, one purpose of which was to keep up prices as paid by the consumer, and the other to keep down prices as paid by themselves to the producer. It happens that there is a law declaring such a course improper and providing a penalty. Sixteen cents a quart for milk is an absurdity as well as an imposition, when other commodities having no special advantage in the way of cheap feed, get milk for ten cents, or even less. The killing at San Francisco or Albert O. Braun, a respected citizen of Los Angeles was a sad tradey. He was shot by a policeman, who says he thought him an automobile thief. Braun had entered a garage where it was his right to be, and had done so openly. Yet the policeman took his life. Had the victim been one of the desperate thieves of which there are many, the policeman would have been considered as having done his duty. Thus such a thief is an enemy of society in more ways than one, a menace to the safety of reputable citizens. The police are too much on edge to be discreet. When your kidneys hurt and your back feels sore, don't get scared and proceed to load your stomach with a lot of drugs that excite the kidneys and irritate the entire urinary tract. Keep your kidneys clean like you keep your bowels clean by flushing them with a mild, harmless salts which removes the body's urinary waste and stimulates them to their normal activity. The function of the kidneys is to filter the blood. In 24 hours they strain from it 500 grains of acid and waste, so we can readily understand the vital importance of keeping the kidneys active. Drink lots of water—you can't drink too much; also get from any pharmaceutical about four ounces of dad Salts; take a tablespoonful in a glass of water before breakfast each morning for a few days and your kidneys will act fine. This famous salts is made from the acid of grape and lemon juice, combined with lithia, and has been used for generations to clean and stimulate clogged kidneys; also to neutralize the acid in urine to it no longer is a source of irritation, thus ending bladder weakness. Adler-i-ka is inexpensive; tends in jure; makes a delightful effervescent lithia-water drink which everyone should take sow and then to keep their kidneys mean and active. Try this, also keep up the water drinking, and doubt you will wonder what occurs of your kidney trouble and backache. Advertisement.
