GIRL SEEKING HER FATHER IS HELD BY OFFICERS Margaret Croft, 17-year-old San Diego girl, was taken from the Los Angeles-San Diego bus at Capistrano yesterday by Officer Vernon Myers on authority of a telephone report from the police at San Diego. The girl is being held at the sheriff's office pending further information from her mother at San Diego. According to the officers who questioned the girl, her parents are separated, the father living in Los Angeles and the mother in San Diego. She declares that she obtained permission from the district attorney to live with her father, and that her mother objected. She left without her mother's consent this yesterday morning, it is said, and the mother reported it to the San Diego officials. SEEKING PAYMENT FOR ALLEGED DAMAGE TO SWEETER An appeal has been taken from the justice court of Placentia, in the civil suit wherein C. D. Sweeter of that city is attempting to obtain judgment for $235.26 damages from the Industrial Fuel Supply Company of Los Angeles. Sweeter claimed in the justice court that the defendant company had a franchise to lay pipe on Orange-thorpe avenue near Placentia, and that Pernel Barnett, in charge of the construction, ran his ditch digging machine on Sweeter's property. Three hundred feet of irrigation pipe was destroyed, according to Sweeter, who asked payment for the damage. A decision in favor of Sweeter was given. Case Dismissed Action against Mike Rose, charged with exhibiting a deadly weapon in a threatening manner, was dismissed in Santa Ana yesterday on motion of Deputy District Attorney C. N. Moze-ly. PRUNING WILL BE DEMONSTRATED BY STATE SPECIALIST (Farm Bureau Bulletin) Apricot, apple, peach and other deciduous fruit growers will attend the summer pruning demonstration next week under the auspices of the Orange County Farm Bureau. Two full days of deciduous fruit demonstrations will be held Tuesday, June 14 and Wednesday, June 15. Dr. J. C. Whitten of the college of agriculture, will assist in following up the pruning done on demonstration trees last winter. A certain amount of June pinching and pruning is very effective in the production of more and better fruit. Methods of summer pruning, tree repair, tree bracing and propping will be shown at these meetings. The following schedule of demonstrations has been arranged: Tuesday, June 14, 10 a.m., Allen Brog., 1 mile north of Garden Grove. Tuesday, June 14, 2 p.m., D. J. Dodge, Costa Mesa. JUDGMENT GIVEN PLAINTIFF ASKING PAY FOR DAMAGES Judgment for $112.90 was granted to B. H. Harmon for an auto repair bill for damages received recently in a collision with Frederick J. Engel of Anaheim. The collision occurred at the intersection of Third and Sycamore streets in Santa Ana. Leonard Evans acted as attorney for Engal, and G. H. Scott for Harmon. The amount originally asked for was $125, but Justice Cox decided that $96 plus costs of trying the suit sufficient.
