Mrs. Janssen's experience of interest to childless wives.
Millston, Wis.—"I want to give you a word of praise for your wonderful medicine. We are fond of children, and for a considerable time after we were married I feared I would not have any. I began taking Lydia E. Pinkham's Vegetable Compound, and it strengthened me so I now have a nice, strong, healthy baby girl. I suffered very little at childbirth and I give all the credit to your medicine, and shall always recommend it highly."—Mrs. H. H. JANSSEN, Millston, Wis.
Mrs. Held of Marinette, Wis., adds her testimonial for Lydia E. Pinkham's Vegetable Compound. She says:
Marinette, Wis.—"I was in a nervous condition and very irregular. My doctor advised an operation. My husband brought me one of your booklets and asked me to try Lydia E. Pinkham's Vegetable Compound. It overcame my weakness so that I now have a healthy baby girl after having been married nine years. I am glad to recommend your medicine, and you may use my letter as a testimonial."—Mrs. H. B. HELD, 380 Jefferson St., Marinette, Wis.
There are many, many such homes that were once childless, and are now blessed with healthy, happy children because Lydia E. Pinkham's Vegetable Compound has restored the mother to a strong and healthy condition, as it acts as a natural restorative for ailments as indicated by backache, irregularities, displacements, weakness and nervousness.
Women everywhere should remember that most of the commoner ailments of women are not the surgical ones—they are not caused by serious displacements or growths, although the symptoms may be the same, and that is why so many apparently serious ailments readily yield to Lydia E. Pinkham's Vegetable Compound, as it acts as a natural restorative. It can be taken with perfect safety and often prevents serious troubles.

News Notes of the Oil Fields
The McGinley Oil company has six wells under way, drilling going on at three of them. No. 11 at 3067 is being rigged up to continue with cable tools. No. 12 has an O.K. on the water at 2900 and is going ahead. No. 13 landed 12½ at 2081 and will be re-cemented.
The Keeler Oil company has been making some excellent progress at No. 2 but has been slowed down with a fishing job. A twist off in the hard sand at 3060 caused the trouble. No. 1 is drilling at 3145 in hard sand.
The Potter Oil company is making good time drilling its No. 2. At 3075 the hard sand has slowed the drill, but the well is going along nicely.
The Pan-American was unable to fish out a lost bailer at 3315 and is now drilling it up. A floating joint of casing has added to the difficulties of the hole.
At 3456, the Petroleum Midway's Baldwin No. 9 a deep well is looking exceedingly good, and gives reason to believe that some of the big production gotten by the Standard on the adjoining property will be obtained by the Petroleum Midway. Work has resumed on Germain No. 1-B and redrilling is now at 3506.
The Standard Oil Company has brought in Baldwin Baldwin No. 56 at 2687, the new well is good for 375 barrels. No. 53 recently started making hole at 1550. No. 57-A, a deep test-will, is now at 3100. Temple No. 14 is standing with the cement setting at 1560.
A new well was started by the St. Helen's Petroleum on the Piuma-Briana lease. No. 4 being the new one. Eggleston No. 1 is drilling by pipe at 2700 feet, the bottom being 3257. Monterey No. 5 now looks like the company's next producer. At 3325 a nice showing of oil was noted. Nutt No. 1 continues to produce 150 barrels of fluid, about a third of the production being water.
The Union Oil Company will soon of 1575 the formation remains unchanged.
Several thousand people have visited the Shell Company Signal Hill well since the reported showing of oil was made four weeks ago. It is the consensus of opinion that the Shell well is an oil well. After drilling out the cement at 2725, a water test was secured without delay, and now the well is drilling in the oil sand at 2850. The sand is so lively that the well has to be kept full of water to prevent blowing out. It is the intention now to drill through the oil sand unless the well should blow out and come in of its own accord.
E. J. Miley will put in once and drill with all the speed possible. Miley is satisfied Long Beach is an oil field now and he will endeavor to get his share of the early production. Miley No. 1 is considered advantageously located and should make a good well if anything like production is obtained by the Shell Company.
The San Berg Petroleum Company is getting its No. 1 rigged up and will be ready to start drilling at an early date. Sanberg succeeded in getting property adjoining the Shell Company.
Speculation is rife as to what the Standard Oil Company will find when the cement is drilled out at Bixby No. 1. The well is now standing cemented at 3400.
Little of importance has developed in the Hawthore-Inglewood field during the past week. The Eddistone Company is still fishing at Rosecrans No. 1, the depth being 2800.
Kitselman started drilling out the cement at Merton No. 1, 2600, and Hicks No. 3 at 2179. Bohon No. 3 is rigging up to drill deeper. A recent blow out here wrecked the rig completely.
The Milwaukee Oil Syndicate No. 2, Lausinger, is standing cemented at 1228. The Standard Oil Company's Bohon is standing cemented at 1375, and Landowners No. 1 is standing at 2800.
Petroleum Development Company is of 1575 the formation remains unchanged.
The twenty-ninth annual cation of the Woman's Home Mission Society, San Diego district of Western California M.E. church, will hold at the Methodist White Tie June 15 and 16. A large attendance delegates from all over Southern California are expected. A feature program will be the banquet for Queen Esther Circles and Young men's Auxiliaries at 5:30 p.m.

A new well was started by the St. Helen's Petroleum on the Piuma-Briana lease, No.
The Union Oil Company will soon have three new producers at Montebello. La Merced No. 18 is in the oil sand at 2600. No. 22 is in the oil sand at 2760, and No. 23 at 2625. No. 9 is drilling at 3075, and No. 17 at 2125 is drilling in hard sand. No. 24 is a new well rigging up.
The leak in the casing that made the recementing of the Bardeen Oil Company's No. 1 Getty is expected to be shut off now, and a second test will be made in a few days. At a previous test about 200 feet of oil was found in the hole. There is little doubt now that the Bardeen Oil Company has got a well.
Preparations were begun by the Chino Corona-United Oil Company to carry its well on from 3225 deeper. At the depth mentioned an oil sand was claimed to have been struck, and it is the intention to drill through this sand before putting the well on production.
Drilling at 2700 feet the Halala Oil Company reports blue shale and the drilling going good. Both the International Petroleum and the Pomona Oil Company are idle, no work having been done for almost a month.
The Long Beach Consolidated Oil Company's No. 1, now drilling at 2775, continues to show considerable light oil and looks like it will make a well. While the showing is not strong enough to make a commercial well at present, it looks like there is something better deeper.
Drilling is going good for the Laguna Beach Oil Association at Newport. Some 2500 feet of hole has been made. Blue shale has been the predominating formation for several hundred feet.
Under the direction of Wm. Wigle the Wirscher and Gary Oil Company is making a record for Newport hard drilling. At 600 feet the hard sand was struck and at the present depth Kiselman started drilling out the cement at Merton No.
Petroleum Development Company is making good headway with the rotary. Drilling is now at 1300, sand and gravel.
The Union Oil Company's No. 1 is at 2300, the work being held up on account of the sticking of the pipe.
