The trial of Dr. Alice Huhn, chiropractor of Anaheim, was begun in department 1 of the superior court in Santa Ana today. Dr. Huhn is charged with practicing a method of healing not authorized or recognized by the state board of health. If convicted, Dr. Huhn announces that she will take a jail sentence rather than pay a fine, three-fourths of which goes to the state medical board to use in prosecuting such cases as that of Dr. Huhn and Dr. Amack, the latter now serving a 90 day sentence in the conuty jail.

The Ladles' Aid of the Presbyterian church will hold its regular meeting Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock. This will be a special business meeting and every member is requested to be present. The organization is anxious to keep up the big work it has started and urgently asks that everyone attend.

Frank C. Remsberg, 46 years of age, former prominent Santa Ana business man, and nephew of Mrs. E. E. Remsberg, who is a sister of President Harding, died at his home there yesterday. Mr. Remsberg had recently been engaged in farming. Besides his widow, he is survived by two sons, Jack, 18, and Charles, 12.

AVOCADO BUDDING DEMONSTRATION ORANGE SHOW
A budding demonstration of avocados will be given tonight at the Valencia Orange show between 8 and 9 o'clock by A. R. Rideout of Whittier, avocado specialist of that city.
Mr. Rideout is responsible for the Lyon avocado, considered one of the best varieties of that fruit on the market. Its food value is very high. There are hundreds of avocado trees in Orange county now, where there used to be only dozens, and Mr. Rideout believes that when people realize what a wonderful fruit the avocado is, there will be an avocado orchard on every ranch and trees in every yard.
The demonstration tonight will be of interest to citrus growers as well as avocado enthusiasts:
VISITORS EXPRESS GREAT SURPRISE AT ORANGE SHOW
Frank W. Kellogg of Los Angeles and Pasadena was a caller at the Valencia Orange show today. Mr. Kellogg, business manager of the Los Angeles Express and owner of the Pasadena Post, recently returned from a trip to Europe, expressed great surprise to the executive committee of the orange show at the wonderful exhibits and the exposition generally.
"I saw some very wonderful things abroad," said Mr. Kellogg, "but noting to equal this great exposition."

From there the party will continue to Big Bear where they will spend the week end.
Mrs. W. E. Bartlett and daughter of Hemet will arrive the latter part of the week to spend Decoration Day with relatives in Anaheim. Mrs. Bartlett has been the guest of her daughter for the past week.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Harmon with a party of friends from Long Beach will spend a three days' vacation above Orange county park, where hiking and other amusements will be enjoyed.
Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Sebastian and daughter left yesterday for Big Bear where they will spend a short vacation.

MINERS ENTOMBED IN HENDERSON, KY.
HENDERSON, Ky., May 25.—Between 25 and 40 men were imprisoned in a coal mine here this afternoon as a result of an explosion. Fifty men escaped. A rescue party started at once to work toward the pit where the men were entombed and it is believed they will be liberated before night fall.
When one listens to some of the much-advertised sopranos he wonders if they practice what they screech.

May 25.—Alcohol-till make their ap-institutions, according to the report of the state board of control.
Seventy-six alcoholics were patients in state hospitals during the first four months of this year, statistics at the board of control show. However, the number of drug addicts and alcoholics taken care of by the state is greatly decreased over 1917. A total of 377 cases have been recorded for the first four months of 1921 as compared with 1272 during the first four months of 1917.
The figures by the month so far for this year are as follows: January, 21 alcoholics, 76 drug addicts; February, 18 alcoholics, 71 drug addicts; March, 15 alcoholics, 79 drug addicts.
