CITY AND COUNTY Courthouse officials and deputies in Santa Ana are making final preparations for their annual picnic, which will be held in Orange county park Saturday afternoon. County Purchasing Agent F. W. Slabaugh today announced that T. E. Stephenson, W. B. Williams and L. A. West had been selected as judges who will award a prize for the best "rabe" at the picnic. CITY AND COUNTY A delegation from the San Bernardino Orange Show and Chamber of Commerce will banquet tonight with a similar committee from Anaheim at the Oyster Loaf. A short program has been arranged, Miss Antoinette Friend will appear in Spanish dances and please her audience as she did yesterday at the Rotary meeting and also at the orange show. Miss Mildred Bay of Los Angeles and Roscoe Corley were dinner guests last night of Dr. and Mrs. J. W. Utter of South Los Angeles street. The evening was spent at the orange show. Miss Bay will become the bride of Mr. Corley in the early part of June. Eugene C. Rust of Butte, Montana, arrived in Anaheim Monday and surprised his sister, Mrs. C. W. Martin. CITY AND COUNTY Anaheim ladies are reminded of the cooked food sale under the auspices of the Sunshine Philathea class of the Metodist church Saturday for the purpose of clearing the plano debt of the Young People's department. Everything that a housewife desires in the way of potato salad, baked beans, cookies, cakes, pres, fruit, cottage cheese, and many other appetizing foods will be on sale. Howard Woodlock was struck by an automobile last night about 10 o'clock near the Santa Ana sugar factory while on his way from Delhi to meet some of the oil workers in Anaheim. Mr. Woodlock states that the lights of the oncoming car were so bright that he was blinded. He received a number of bruises. The Star Whist Club will meet tomorrow afternoon at the Masonic Temple.
