Easton, who was killed March 29 in an automobile accident, was scheduled to come up in the court of Judge Z. B. West at 1 o'clock today, other court business caused a delay. It was stated that the attorney of Mrs. Young. John A. Harvey of Santa Ana, had received from Chicago a certified copy of the record showing that his client and Young were married there in 1898. Presentation of this proof would virtually result in Mrs. Young being granted the letters, it was understood. "The Four Square Builder" was the subject of the lecture of Captain T. D. Upton at the Ellison-White Chau-tauqua tent last night following a most interesting concert by the six young ladies and the pianist, all known as the Lieurance Little Symphony orchestra. Captain Upton's talk was rapid fire and he made a score of more bull's eyes shooting at conditions in too many American homes today. He took a rap at the father who doesn't make a confident of his boy and the mother who is too busy to give proper encouragement and sympathy to her girls. The "village gossip" came on for a fine array of attack and it was specially directed to church members who "grease the toboggan for a girl who has taken the downward patta." Captain Upton made a strong plea for a plentiful supply of play grounds for children. "Call it whatever you will, a civic center or a public playground, but put it where children will use it and put up swings and build sand boxes and pools for the boys and girls." At the afternoon session yesterday, Miss Jane Peterson, soprano soloist, added much pleasure to the afternoon program with a group of three songs. Miss Peterson is an accomplished singer with a highly pleasing voice. The young ladies who constitute the Lieurance Little Symphony orchestra, not forgetting the gentleman who presided at the piano, are finished artists and they played some very pleasing numbers. DENVER—While several hundred persons were attending a reception at the new police station here, Mrs. Marezin Alvarez, a guest, 28, gave birth to a daughter in a room adjoining the reception hall.
