There’s More To A Home
Than Dollars and Cents
No one can measure the cash value of a happy home. It’s the biggest thing in life.
If you are living in cramped and uncomfortable quarters, if you have been planning for a home when conditions become right—then see us today.
The delay in new building has forced building material prices downward at a tremendous clip. Manufacturers, caught with big stocks on hand, have had to turn them over almost at cost.
We have taken advantage of the situation and as a result we are able to show you substantial reductions on practically every item we carry—mason’s supplies, roofing, Beaver board—many of our prices compare favorably with those of 1914.
This is a good time to see us.
With our city short at least three hundred homes people can’t delay much longer in their new building. Demand will stimulate prices; manufacturers will again ask a legitimate profit; and we can again expect increased building costs.
In the meantime we offer you a home—and at a price that cannot fail to please you. If you will call or phone us, we will be glad to go into detail.

EMPLOYMENT AND PROLEMS OF THE WORLD SOLVE PRODUCTION TO
By STEPHEN C. MASON,
President National Association of Manufacturers.
(Written for the United Press)
NEW YORK, May 12.—The purpose which actuated the National Association of Manufacturers in calling a conference of ambassadors and ministers on world trade, were exemplified by President Harding in his first address to Congress when he said:
"Our obligations in effecting European tranquility because of war involvements are not less impelling than our part in the war itself. This restoration must be brought before the human procession can go onward again."
As an organization comprising 6000 members, which produces approximately 80 per cent of all of the raw and manufactured materials in the United States, the National Association of Manufacturers has determined if possible co-ordinate the resources of its members in an effort to stabilize social and economic conditions throughout the world.
Out of the conflicting desires and needs of the world today, two fundamental necessities are apparent. They are employment for the people, and production by industry—each dependent upon the other, and both dependant upon sources of supply which only the United States can provide. Production in the United States today is hampered because we have a surplus of raw and manufactured materials. Production in Europe is stagnant because she lacks the very materials of which we have a surplus, which she of the world, not only because they are anxious for the welfare of other peoples, but also because they are disturbed regarding the welfare of their own people. It is difficult, however, for these busy men to get a clear and unbiased view of the necessities of the situation unless an organization such as ours undertakes to present to them briefly, definitely and concisely a salient presentment such as we hope will develop from the Conference of Ambassadors and Ministers on World Trade.
DAIRY COWS GROW MORE VALUABLE ON GOOD LAND
(Farm Bureau Bulletin)
The more valuable land becomes, then all the more reason why dairy cows should be kept. On the island of Jersey land rents from $50 to $60 per acre per annum. In Holland cows are kept on land valued at from $1000 to $2000 per acre. And cows are kept at a profit on such high priced land, even though less is received for dairy products than in this country.
Profitable dairying is possible in these countries because it is conducted on a business basis and the cows are bred to a high state of efficiency. Certainly with cheaper land and higher prices for dairy products, the dairy-men of this country have the best opportunity in the world for continued prosperity.

TWO PARTNERS SET OUT ON THEIR TRAVELS
By JOHN BARTON
(Copyright, 1921, by The Associated Newspapers)
Over you read about Nibble Rabbit's journey to the Deserted Cabin in the marsh, where he found Malty Cat, you'll know the road Malty led on his way home again. Underpaws was with him — the skunk who was so curious to what a cabin was. He couldn't move being born anywhere but in with hole, a grassy nest, or maybe a snow tree. But a cabin wasn't like all of these things.
They set out at dusk through the Woods, taking their time as if hadn’t anything in the world to do them. Indeed, there are very hunters who care to fight either alone, so the two of them took were twice as safe. They had boldly across the dancing-land where Nibble had seen the kittens courting and the slim, real crouched above, her queer-kittens, to keep them still, and breathlessly for the two beasts. Though who would want to weaselly babies I really can’t see, unless some bird took them, four-legged caterpillars with tails. They’re so very, very and so very, very, very clumsy they first start walking. Her Malty nor Thunderpaws even a head, though they did sniff.
Time Thunderpaws dodged was the came near the owl’s tree. A owlet choked on a bone and coughing. His mother, swooping, hissed angrily: “Be quiet! Waking is stirring!” He gulped the rest of his cough the best he could. Mrs. Hooter was just here with her children as she is with poor Hooter himself, and you know how she treated him. But the something had stirred.
Indeed, it had. Two somethings! Thunderpaws had pounced into the pickiest thicket he could find, with Malty Kitten after him. “What’s all this about?” complained the young cat after they’d sneaked among the tangely stems for a little way. He simply hated them, for every pricker went right through his fur.
Before Thunderpaws could answer they heard Mrs. Hooter call, in a flurry of fright: “Quick! Quick! That cats is hunting again. Out! Out! to the tippest twig of your limb where she can't reach you!”
“Owl!” grunted the squink. “You'd know why if you wore a white stripe on your nose, or your back, or your tail-tip either. An owl can't see it without wanting to grab her foolish claws into it. And the big ones, who come out of the far-off north in winter, are mighty dangerous fighters. But that squawking scarefeather up there won't bother us.” So on they went toward the Big Marsh.
