SEAL BEACH NOTES
Judge J. C. Ord has left for Stockton, where he will attend the encampment of the California and Nevada R. A. R. After the encampment the judge will spend a couple of weeks in San Francisco visiting with friends. He will be absent from town about three weeks. Then, on June 15, he expects to leave for Vermont for a three months' vacation at his old home town.
Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Riley have moved to Huntington Beach.
Joe Bixby of Los Angeles was in local Beach calling on old friends.
Miss Letha McDavitt of Pasadena, formerly of Seal Beach, is here for the summer.
Mr. and Mrs. Watkins of Long Beach were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hinsch.
George and Fred Stellar have gone to Inglewood, where they will remain for some time before returning to Canada.
One hundred students of the Southern California Osteopathic school participated in a banquet at the Jewell cafe. After the banquet they had a dance in the pavilion.

Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Carter and daughter Pauline of Yorba Linda spent Sunday with Mrs. Carter's parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Bodenhamer.

The home of Dr. and Mrs. Edgar W. Christensen, 244 Roswell avenue, Long Beach, was the scene of a very pretty wedding Saturday afternoon at 4 o'clock, when Miss Henrietta Kathyleen Johns, sister of Mrs. Christensen, and Mr. Wilbur Lee Welch of 12 Mission Court, Orange, were united in marriage.
Mr. and Mrs. Dayton Ditchey returned home from their honeymoon trip Friday afternoon. They had a fine time at Camp Baldy.
Dr. M. A. Shipman, noted lecturer and pastor of the Pilgrim Congregational church of Pasadena, will be Decoration Day orator at the memorial services of the G. A. R. here on May 30, according to announcement of Post Adjutant Teasdale.
Mrs. Lew Easley, niece of Mrs. B. R. Helwig, from Waterloo, Iowa, is here indefinitely, having accompanied the remains of her mother whose interment was made in Fairhaven cemetery.
Mr. and Mrs. George W. Smith of North Shaffer street drove to Los Angeles yesterday and met their son Lawrence, who arrived from Berkeley university on the 10:30 train last evening.

PLAGENTIA ITEMS
At a special assembly of the Junior College called Monday afternoon recognition of students who had distinguished themselves in athletics was accorded. About twenty letters of fold color bordered with blue and with small blue letters "J. C." were awarded by Mr. Culp.
The girls receiving the letters in basketball were Etta Ogden, Florence Ford, Flora Walker, Phyllis Goodwin, Jessamyn West, Phyllis Pierotti, and Nell Housley (captain).
The men receiving letters in basketball were Sherman Yost, Leo Hitchcock, Howard Noble, George Smith-burn, John Hawkins, Charles Lake and Everett Houser. In track the following letters — Hawkins, Yost, Lack, Witmer and Noble.
The regular meeting of the Parent-Teachers' association has been postponed until May 17, because of the fact that the teachers had been working so hard to get the children ready for the May Day pageant. This coming meeting will probably be the last meeting of the year.
Mr. and Mrs. John Tuffree has as their guests for Sunday Mrs. Tuffree's cousins, Mr. and Mrs. M. L. Koppin of Sunset Beach.
Walter Hale of 200 Melrose avenue will start the construction of a new home on Chapman avenue in the very near future, with W. L. Tadlock as the carpenter.
A building has been constructed back of the Halber Drug store and back of Kennedy's grocery, that is to be used as a garage by Mr. Halber and a storehouse by Mr. Kennedy.
