The note said, "To Paul. Paul I'm ashamed of you. You had a nice girl like Sue and then turn around and took Beth. Don't ever ask anything of me. If the rest of the class is wise they won't ask anything of you. Be smart, go back to Sue. Sue and Nancy is the best girls in this room."
The answer: "I still like Sue. But Angelo took her from me. She hates me. Angelo is a better man than I am."

Long Weekly Trips About Ended, Thanks To New Law
By RONALD BURTON
United Press International
LOS ANGELES (UPI) — For nearly 10 years, Roy Huerta, 28, has been able to see his wife only on week ends.
Almost every Saturday, Huerta, a restaurant cook, has taken a 130-mile bus trip to visit his Mexican-born wife, Manuela, 32, in Tijuana, Mexico. She has been barred from the United States since 1949 as the result of a per-jury conviction that started as a language mixup.
But now, Huerta, aided by a United Press International investigation, may be able in a matter of weeks to bring his wife and six small children to Los Angeles to live with him.
“This is wonderful,” he said.
“I’ll take the kids out every day. I’ll skip through the park with them.”
Ironically, a law passed Sept. 11, 1957, probably would have permitted Mrs. Huerta to enter this country at that time despite the perjury conviction. But Huerta, a World War II Army veteran of the South Pacific campaign, didn’t know about it until a UPI reporter investigated the case.
Need Documents
“We feel this is a deserving case, and it shouldn’t be too long before the family can all live together here if other things are in order,” said F. C. Oswald, deputy district director of immigration in Los Angeles.
“That means they need documents showing they are married and that Huerta was born in this country. The Sept. 11, 1957 legislation permits the spouse of a U.S. citizen to enter the country even if he or she would be otherwise inadmissible because of a conviction.”
Oswald said the last entry in the case was in 1953 when Huerta again tried to have her admitted.
Oswald, who said he felt the case was an isolated one, spent several days running down information called to his attention by UPI.
A week ago Friday he located the file listed under Mrs. Huerta’s maiden name. He telephoned Huerta, told him about the 1957 law and advised him to start proceedings at the San Ysidro border station which could win her admission in four to six weeks.
Would Be Citizens
The official also asked San Ysidro personnel to contact the U.S. Consulate in Tijuana across the border about the case. The children, he said, would become U.S. citizens without difficulty if the Huerta birth and marriage documents were in order.
“This is wonderful!” Huerta old Oswald. “I’ll tell Manuela about it when I go see her this week end. She doesn’t have a phone there. It will be a wonderful surprise. She’ll fill out the forms and get going on it right away. It’s wonderful.”
The children range from infancy to nine years.
Huerta, born in Johnstown, Pa., unable to arrange for a job in San Diego, Calif., a short distance from Tijuana.
Mrs. Huerta’s difficulty occurred when the couple married in 1947 in Los Angeles, visited Tijuana and then returned. Mrs. Huerta, who speaks only a little English, became confused and said she was a U.S. citizen. She later was accused of entering the United States illegally, convicted of perjury and deported.
Aluminum Fences Best Says Company Official
DAVENPORT, Iowa (UPI) — State-governments as well as his own industry would benefit, says Frank R. Nichols, if aluminum chain-link fences were installed along the U.S. superhighway system now being built.
Nichols, who is president of the Nichols Wire and Aluminum Co., here, pointed out that while the Federal government is paying 9% per cent of all construction costs the states will have to pay 10% per cent of the maintenance bills.
Aluminum fences would reduce these bills, Nichols said, because they would not rust and would need no painting.

Aerial Highway Aids In Arizona Dam Project
NEW YORK (UPI) — Building the Glen Canyon Dam in north central Arizona is the biggest construction job going on in the U.S. today and it couldn't be done without an aerial highway of steel.
Men and materials are being carried to the ruggedly inaccessible construction site by a network of steel cables strung from toweres 700 feet above the Colorado River, according to the American Iron and Steel Institute publication Steelways.
Glen Canyon, scheduled for operation in 1964, will open up some 110,000 square miles of arid land in Arizona, Colorado, Utah, New Mexico and Wyoming.
Hollydale, are eagerly awaiting their departure May 9.
A Los Angeles travel agency will handle the tickets. The itinerary calls for a plane flight to West Berlin arriving May 11, and observances May 12.
The evening of the 12th the pair will be guests of the president of West Germany at the castle of Frederick the Great.
The following day, the Fullertonians will be guests at the Opera, taken on conducted tours, and given a reception at the Senate.
Departure date for the tourists is set for May 18.
Mrs. Mene said she first learned of the trip when she was invited to a press conference in Los Angeles for West Berlin Mayor Willy Brandt recently.
"Bob is really thrilled about the trip," Mrs. Mene commented.
The youngster is a third-year Little Leaguer in the East Fullerton League, and a seventh grader at Wilshire Junior High.
Besides the trip, a four-year scholarship at the Free University of Berlin awaits young Bob.
"I would love for him to take advantage of that when he is older," Mrs. Mene declared.
The scholarship was offered to Stuber by the West German Senate.

FIRST MAN — Who is the first man ever to climb the Matterhorn?
Why, Edward Kuz of Garden Grove, of course! And here's the pictorial proof — photographed from the tiptop of that very Matterhorn Mountain . . . at Disneyland! For a "mountain climber," Kuz has an unusual occupation. He's a carpenter's foreman, directing framework construction for the "upper reaches" of Disneyland's exact scale replica of the "snow-capped" Matterhorn. Completion date for the Matterhorn is mid-June, when Disneyland visitors will race around and down its slopes in bobsleds. And inside the mountain, guests will view Glacier Caverns and Alpine Grottos. It's all part of Disneyland's greatest expansion since opening, including $6-million in new attractions.
