The jury reached its decision Friday afternoon after four hours of deliberation. The five-day trial in the court room of Superior Judge Karl Lynn Davis.
The 37-year-old Tacoma, Washington, fisherman denied he had anything to do with the robbery of the establishment, which was then owned and managed by the late Leslie Simpson of Anaheim. Simpson was murdered in front of his Anaheim home early this year.
The defendant had claimed he was at a party the night of the holdup and was able to produce several witnesses to back up his story. Also a major issue in the case was the man's physical characteristics.
Witnesses at the South Seas during the armed robbery claimed the man who resembled Rosoto weighed about 170 pounds and was about 5-8 in height.
Rosoto's height is 5-3 and his weight has been 130 to 150 pounds. It was disclosed by defense attorney John J. Grottes. Also a factor in the case was a limp which the defendant currently has and which he uses for most of his life.
The man seen by witnesses at the robbery, one of three who pulled the crime, was described as being agile and fast.
Rosoto was accompanied through the whole trial by his blonde wife.
Three persons, including the late Leslie Simpson, his wife Fern, and a bartender, all identified the defendant as one of the men who participated in the robbery. The two other men wore silk stockings on their face while the third suspect reportedly only had on a cap.
He had been charged with three counts of armed robbery.
Arrest Driver After Police Car Endangered
Arrested and booked for drunk and drunk driving last night was Timothy F. Soderblom, 26, 400 N. Vine St., after he reportedly forced a police unit to the curb while making a turn.
Soderblom was first observed going south on Los Angeles St., by a police officer traveling north. The officer's report claimed that Soderblom's car was weaving from side to side of the street. When he came to the intersection of the South Seas Cafe two years ago, is a free man today following a "not guilty" verdict rendered yesterday afternoon by a Superior Court jury.

Nixon to Take Jet on Flight to Moscow
WASHINGTON (UPI) — Vice President Richard M. Nixon's July trip to Moscow will be a dramatic time-saving jet flight, it was reported today.

Arrested and booked for drunk and drunk driving last night was Timothy F. Soderblom, 28, 400 N. Vine St., after he reportedly forced a police unit to the curb while making a turn.
Soderblom was first observed going south on Los Angeles St., by a police officer traveling north. The officer's report claimed that Soderblom's car was weaving from side to side of the street. When he came to the intersection of Los Angeles and Chartres, the officer said that the driver made the left hand turn, cutting in front of the patrol unit and forcing it to the curb.
Following the car west on Chartres, red light and siren were employed, but to no avail. The officer then pulled alongside the offending vehicle and waved the car to the curb at Lemon and Chartres.

Daylight Saving Begins Tomorrow
SACRAMENTO (UPI)—Californians go on daylight saving time Sunday.
California law requires that clocks be set ahead one hour from 1 a.m. to 2 a.m. Most residents won't wait for the exact hour, however, and will set their clocks ahead an hour when they go to bed, or will get around to it the next day.
Under a new regulation, taverns and package stores will be allowed to dispense alcoholic beverages for "two hours after midnight." Thus, for tonight only, they can remain open until clocks show 3 a.m.
Under the law approved by the voters in 1949, the five months of daylight saving time will end the last Sunday of September when clocks will be turned back an hour at 2 a.m.
Assemblyman Louis Francis (R-San Mateo) has a measure in the Legislature to extend daylight saving time to six months, ending the last Sunday in October but it cannot take effect this year.
The measure, now in the Senate Governmental Efficiency Committee with Assembly approval, is set for hearing next Wednesday. If it passes both houses and is signed by Gov. Edmund G. Brown, it will go on the 1900 general election ballot for approval by the people.
The measure has run into stiff opposition, mainly from farm groups.
Actor Gary Cooper Becomes a Catholic
HOLLYWOOD (UPI) — Lanky actor Gary Cooper was reported "very happy" today with his conversion to the Roman Catholic faith. Vatican sources said secret audiences with the late Pope Plus XII preceded the change.
The 58-year-old movie veteran confirmed Friday a Vatican announcement of his conversion April 9 to the faith of his wife of 26 years, "Rocky" and his daughter Maris, 21.
"Coop is very happy about it. My daughter and I have always been Catholics," Mrs. Cooper said.
"It took him a long time to make up his mind, but he has finally seen the light."
In Rome, a Vatican source said the audiences with the late Pontiff played an important role in Cooper's change of faith.
The actor met the Pope "alone and in complete secrecy" on several occasions during visits to Rome, the source said. He considered the Pope "a sort of spiritual father," he said.

Two more blasts were reported at the Ashlo Mine at Combs Friday night but neither did any damage, according to Hazard Police Chief R. D. Cisco.
Chandler described the pickets at the Ashlo mine as "so unruly and so defiant that I feared for the lives of the state police officers who were holding the crowd at bay with shotguns."
Chandler also was governor 22 years ago when the National Guard was called to put down violence in a Harlan County coal field when violence erupted in a long coal strike.
The first guard truckloads roared into Hazard at 1:20 a.m.e.s.t. The unit was Company B, of the 441st Field Artillery Battalion from Ravenna, commanded by William E. Higginboth.
The troops, wearing helmets and carrying rifles and bayonets in scabbards, marched into Hazard Memorial Gymnasium where they spent the night.
Officials in the coal strike area were cautious in commenting on the governor's action, perhaps because of possible political repercussions during the gubernatorial election year in Kentucky.
United Mine Worker Union Attorney H. B. Noble was sharply critical.
"I personally feel the calling of the guard was not justified," he said. "I don't believe there will be a very big welcoming committee for them."

Considerable cloudiness with showers today and early night. Partly cloudy Sunday. High today about 66. Low tonight 54. Slightly warmer Sunday.

Stanton Police Sergeant Donald Jones faces arraignment May 18 in Anaheim-Fullerton Municipal Court on the charge of burglarizing Police Chief E. W. Patrick's desk.

SUSPECT LIKES NOISES
Find Bomb at Castro Rally
NEW YORK (UPI) — An unemployed riveter who likes to hear loud bangs was arrested Friday night as he was about to exlode a homemade bomb near the speakers platform at a rally for Fidel Catro.
Two policemen nabbed John Gregory Feller, 23, in a roped off area back of the bandstand shell in Central Park where the Cuban premier was addressing 30,000 enthusiastic supporters.
Feller said he was going to set off the bomb "just for kicks," and denied he intended to hurt anyone.
Police described the bomb as a lethal instrument dangerous up to 300 feet. It was made from an 11-inch section of aluminum vacuum cleaner extension tubing filled with gunpowder, sulphur and zinc, and fused with match heads.
Neither Castro nor the cheering crowd listening to him was aware of the off-stage drama of Feller's arrest. Police whisked Feller to a park police station in an unmarked car so as not to rouse the crowd.
Police discounted Feller as a paid assassin but held him on charges of possessing a dangerous weapon.
"He's jut a kid who likes to hear loud noises," one officer said.
Police said Feller told them "I was intending to set it off on a West Side pier just for kicks, but when I heard the noise of the crowd in Central Park as I was passing by I decided it would be much more fun."
