The board instructed the road department to prepare plans for the alignment of Katella Ave., with Willow St., in Los Angeles County and for Westminster Blvd., to connect with Second S. The supervisoral resolution withheld any recommendation on the proposed connection of Atherton St., across the county line. The decision regarding Katella and Westminster coincides with the plans of Los Angeles County for improvement of Willow and Second Sts. At present, traffic between the two counties in the Long Beach-Los Alamitos area must jog over several streets in order to stay on major boulevards. Bulletin—8-17 Missourians Proud Of Its 437 Caves JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (UPI) Missouri, already famous for Harry S. Truman, mules and skeptical citizens, is developing into a leading underground state. It boasts 347 caves in 55 counties which it expects will be visited by more sightseers, explored by more spelunkers and scientifically studied by more spelliologists than ever before. The largest of these caves is Meramec Caverns, where Jesse James and his gang once hid out. Other favorite underground spots in Missouri are the "Garden of the Gods," the Ozark Wonder Caves and Mark Twain Cave near Hannibal, where Tom Sawyer and Becky Thatcher once got lost. In his day, George Washington was perhaps the largest whiskey distiller in the American colonies. IN INTERPRETATION ... AND FAMOUS NAMES IN CONTEMPORARY FURNITURE ... NOW AT GOLD'S 3 PC.
