Los Angeles St. KEL 5-6149 Beauty Tips from Me to You by Lillian Ruskin Lin-Brook Beauty Salon—10037 Lincoln, KE 3-3694 Makeup can't change the shape of the face—but properly applied one can look more youthful, good points can be enhanced and poor points can be subdued. Take into consideration the shape of the face before any make-up is used. Remember the right shade of make-up is important. Rouge is a most important item for properly applied it can do much to minimize the less attractive and bring out the better ones. But rouge applied too heavily or not placed correctly will make one look old or tired so be sure that you study the contours of your face so that the rouge properly applied can take off years and add sparkle to your eyes. Experiment with your makeup and seek council from your favorite operator as to its proper application. You can wear any color you want if you remember to change your make-up. We all know that there are certain colors that are off-bounds for our type but now with so many kinds of make-up to effect a dramatic fashion we can wear some of those colors we have always avoided by changing our make-up to suit the costume. Try it for a lift. More next week on how to match your colors to your make-up. More women every day are saying "To look your loveliest, call The Lin-Brook Beauty Salon. Individual Hairstyling... Beauty Expert Scheduled at Broadway Store Beauty answers to women will be given when Miss Adrienne Stratton of Charles of the Ritz comes to the Broadway Department Store, April 27, 28, and 29. Miss Stratton says she has noticed that—the most common beauty problem is that of dryness. She has a helpful corrective treatment for this skin type as well as for the many others that are a cause for concern. As her trained eyes carefully study your skin, she will also point out the importance of selecting the right shades of make-up. For example, did you know that colors that are too dark for your skin-tone will cast unflattering, aging shadows onto your face? With the proper foundation, the right blend of powder, rouge, eye makeup and lipstick, your skin, and even your hair, is dramatized and enhanced so that you look and feel years younger, she points out. There are so many more helpful tips to learn from this goodwill-ambassador of beauty, from makeup to the proper application of creams. She'll show how to smooth cleansing and lubricating creams onto the face to help uplift "relaxed" facial contours. She will present how to apply rouge, lipstick, shadow and eyebrow pencil to suit the face type.
