Love of God Is Sunday Topic The Sunday lesson sermon in all Christian Science churches is entitled "Love." The golden text from First John reads, "He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love." The sermon speaks of the universal love of the Father for His children. A reference from First John declares: "In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him." In "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" Mary Baker Eddy says, "Jesus mapped out the path for others." "In witness of his divine commission, he presented the proof that life, truth, and love heal the sick and the sinning, and triumph over death through mind; not matter. This was the highest proof he could have offered of divine Love." CHURCH TALENT HOUR — H. B. O. Organized last year, the cortisone bank of the Los Angeles chapter, National Nephrosis Foundation, has supplied thousands of vital tablets to nearly 50 youthful victims of nephrosis, a dread kidney disease. The drug, which helps to reduce the endema and body swelling which accompany nephrosis, is supplied free of charge by the local non-profit group, according to Mrs. Cyrus S. Fields, project chairman. The cost of the mercy program is underwritten by the chapter which also maintains a program of research into the causes and cure of the mysterious kidney ailment. The headquarters are located at 9015 Wilshire Blvd. Upon prescription from a physician, a patient is given 40 tablets, or a 12 days' supply, Mrs. Fields explained. When that supply is exhausted—and the doctor feels additional medication is needed—the bank furnishes another 40 tablets. Requests for the cortisone have been received from many outlying California committees and from families of nephrosis sufferers in other states. When accompanied by a doctor's prescription, the tablets are sent immediately—without cost. Last year, more than 18,000 children and adults in the United States died from nephrosis.
