Polio Down 50 Per Cent, Reports Los Angeles LOS ANGELES (UP)—Polio In Los Angeles county decreased 50 per cent during June compared to the same month a year ago, Dr. Mary B. Dale, head of the acute communicable diseases branch of the county Health Department said today. She said 55 cases were diagnosed last month compared to 116 in June 1954. "It's low and why it is low we don't know," she said. "But we do know that a low year sometimes follows a high year." The health officer said this year's figures were similar to those in 1953 when 59 cases were reported in June.
