Ike Undecided Whether To Seek Office Again (Continued from page 1) ward a provision of the House farm bill that would require Secretary of Agriculture Ezra T. Benson to raise dairy price supports from 75 per cent to 80 per cent of parity. Mr. Eisenhower said the measure has not reached his desk and therefore he did not wish to discuss it. 8. He has not seen a statement by Chairman W. Sterling Cole (R-NY) that the Congressional Atomic Energy Committee might hold hearings on the case of Dr. J. Robert Oppenheimer if the Atomic Energy Commission should decide to restore Oppenheimer's security clearance. Cole said the committee would probably not hold hearings, however, if the commission ruled against Oppenheimer. Mr. Eisenhower said he did not think it would be appropriate for him to comment until he knew more about the statement. Results Are th. Proof of Newspaper Circulation. Local Ventura county local Ventura county Claim McCarthy Signed Commission Plea (Continued from page 1) Carthy had defiantly announced he will not be bound by executive branch restrictions aimed at keeping information from Congress. These, he said, "can have a serious effect on our ability to get information." Welch tried repeatedly to get a flat answer from McCarthy on whether he thinks it is proper for a federal employe to furnish classified FBI information to Congress if the employee felt proper action on the material was not being taken by his department. McCarthy said "we receive no information from the FBI." Cites Hiss Case "But you are perfectly willing to take it second-hand," Welch observed. Welch several times rephrased his question about whether employees have a right or duty to tell Congress if they feel classified information about wrong-doing or subversion is being ignored. McCarthy finally said "no" to the form in which Welch last phrased it. But earlier he declared that if Welch's position had prevailed, convicted perjurer Alger Hiss might never have been sent to pall. McCarthy said Hiss "might be holding a high position in government" today if Congress had not been given information about him which the executive branch had ignored.
