THE WORK BEGINS—Preparation of 40,000 brochures telling voters about Assemblyman LeRoy E. Lyon in the 75th District of west and north Orange County is under way. Howser Blasts Plan For Dope Stations Former Attorney-General Fred H. Howser, seeking re-election to that office at the June 8 primary, today blasted the plan, apparently approved by the incumbent, to establish California dope stations for confirmed narcotic addicts. "Newspapers state that a Citizens Advisory Committee, appointed by the Attorney-General, has recommended the establishment of these dope stations where confirm-in my opinion, it would serve only one purpose—a gigantic increase in the use of all kinds of drugs with the majority of those using them being able to purchase them at small cost with the benediction of the State of California. "Evidently the plan as projected by the incumbent's Citizens Advisory Committee, has his approval, or his quasi-approval, as it is his committee and as such, it insulates him against any political repercussions that might prove unprofitable to him.
