Mrs. Gordon McComber, Buena Park, has been appointed Women's chairman of the Buena Park Knight for governor committee, according to Mrs. Arthur May, Santa Ana, Orange County Women's chairman.
It has been announced that Clay Juneman, Buena Park, will be chairman of the $2 to Win Democratic Fund Drive for this city. This is a nationwide campaign by the newly-formed California Democratic council to raise funds for Democratic candidates.
The YW Council members of Buena Park met last week at the recreation hall in La Mirada for their May meeting.
Mrs. Ada Wagg gave the inspirational thought for the day. Plans for the future were discussed including the annual Garden Tour which will be held in Fullerton June 5 from 1 to 5 p.m. Tickets may be purchased from any YW Council member.
Miss Mary McDill, executive director of North Orange County YWCA announced that the Buena Park Y-Teen Girls sold $19.61 worth of potato chips at a recent sale and the proceeds will be used for camperships. A half-campership from the Buena Park Women's Club was acknowledged.
Mrs. Melvin Dolle, chairman, introduced Mrs. James T. Starr of Long Beach who in turn introduced the guest speaker, Mrs. L. L. Humphrey, who projected slides of India and the inhabitants of that country. The pictures were taken by Mrs. Humphrey's husband who served six years as President of the International Association of Y's Mens Clubs.
Mrs. E. D. Knott and Mrs. Ollie Procter were hostesses and they served peach cobblers coffee and lent-teachers Association meeting at Los Alamitos Airbase Station last week from Lindbergh school, were Mmes. Lester Pogue, K. V. Suhr, J. A. Reed, T. H. Swearingen, and P. H. Govereau.
Those attending from Charles McComber school were Mmes. Huston Collier, George Pritchard, Jesse Davis, John Beat, and Cameron Sopha.
Present from the Grand Avenue school were Mmes. W. C. Brisco, G. J. Causley, Emil Plegel, Dave Eggert, Leonard Hamner, Donald Witt, Calvin Culp, and W. C. Liesch.
Plans Completed for Reservists Training Tour at Norton Base
It was announced this week that plans have been completed for reservists of the 77th Air Depot Wing to take their annual two-week active duty training tour at Norton Air Force Base in San Bernardino, during August this year.
A Reserve Coreyll of Norton, members of the Wing, will work alongside regularly assigned Norton personnel, both military and civilian, in such fields as supply, maintenance, transportation and administration. The 77th is an organization designed, should the need arise, to keep 12 combat groups in the air. It is one of two such Reserve Wings in the Air Force, the other being located in New York.
From Santa Barbara to San Diego, the Wing is made up of men and women, both veterans and those without prior service, from all areas in the Southland.

Man Serves Sentence In Jail on Weekends
SANTA ANA—Serving time in Orange County Jail on weekends so he can work during the week to support his family, Carl William Hanneman, 28, of Costa Mesa, spent Saturday and Sunday behind bars under court order.
Superior Judge Robert Gardner sentenced Hanneman to the bastile on week ends for 10 weeks for participating in burglary of a boat at Newport Harbor. The court required Hanneman to report to jail by 8 p.m. each Friday, and to be released at 8 p.m. each Sunday.

Practical Ideas For Home Storage Told Homemakers
Practical and interesting ideas for better storage facilities in living rooms, bedrooms, linen closets and out-of-doors was presented by means of pictures, plans and slides by Marian Prentiss, home economist who addressed the Orangethorpe Homemakers Friday morning at the Buena Park Congregational church.
Speaking on "Better Household Storage," she announced that for women with specific storage problems, a follow-up workshop session will be held at the Farm Bureau hall in Orange at 10 a.m. Friday, June 4.
Mrs. Lola Cole read a beautiful poem on friendship for the thought of the day.
A "pioneer lunchson" was enjoyed yesterday, sponsored by the Tustin Home Department, assisted by Costa Mesa and Orangethorpe Homemakers. Proceeds went to help equip the new Farm Bureau kitchen. Mmes. Vangelia Rainey, chairman; Edna Kenney, vice-chairman; and Ella Hiltscher, secretary-treasurer. Each officer and special guest was presented a beautiful corsage by Mrs. Elsa Goodwin. The chairman's corsage had a miniature gold gavel in the center.
A share-the-cost luncheon was served by Mmes. Ida Jager, Marge Hobbs, Melba Lindamood and Bertha Williams and included food of the month which was "pie for the president." The tables were attractive with nasturtiums arrangements made by Mrs. Lola Cole.
Those attending not already mentioned were: Mmes. Ethel Moffit, Alma Parks, Bernice Hiltscher and Pauline Budzilko, a special guest from San Diego.
Employees Reject Union In Recent Election
SANTA ANA—Employees of the Glasspar Company, Santa Ana, manufacturer of fiberglas auto bodies, boats and industrial products, voted six to one against unionization at an election held Friday under the jurisdiction of the National Labor Relations Board. According to William R. Tritt, president, there were 94 employees eligible to vote, although only 86 ballots were cast. Seventy-two voted against the proposal that the Mill and Cabinet Local No. 2172, Orange County District Council of Carpenters, become the collective bargaining agency. Thirteen voted in favor, one ballot was both for and against.
