Meeting on Centralia School Postponed
A meeting called for 3 p.m. today aimed at expediting Centralia Elementary School's building program has been postponed until Tuesday at the request of John Branigan, field representative of the School Planning Division. Branigan also requested that the meeting place be at his Los Angeles office instead of in Santa Ana at the office of County Superintendent of Schools, as was originally planned, Glen H. Dysinger, Centralia School Superintendent said today.
Centralia's building program, which was voted last Jan. K, and called for six classrooms and a kindergarten, was expected to be completed by September with children occupying the classrooms by Christmas, at least. However, due to refusal of the Office of School Planning to pass several elements in the plan, a definite date cannot even be named for construction to begin, Dysinger said. He has asked LeRoy E. Lyon, Jr. State Assemblyman for the 75th district and chairman of Education Subcommittee on Public School Construction, for assistance in getting construction underway.
