SATURDAY'S BRIDE — Mary Joanne Carter and Nicholas Joseph Monti Jr. of Pennsylvania wed at Boniface Catholic Church.
Mary Joanne Carter Becomes Bride of Nicholas Monti Jr. Saturday Morning
Bridal white complimented the loveliness of Miss Mary Joanne Carter as she approached the altar at St. Boniface church Saturday morning at 10 o'clock to say her marriage vows with Nicholas Joseph Monti Jr., of Custer, Pa. Her gown of slipper satin was fashioned in redingote style, with tiny satin buttons and the Mandarin collar accenting the waist. The long sleeves were softly fitted and pointed at the wrist with the very full skirt created from nylon net worn over crisp white taffeta. Her tiny white velvet Juliet cap, studded with pearls, held her short veil to her hairstyle and she carried white carnations, stephanosis and stock in her nosegay, its center an exquisite orchid. Her gown was the "borrowed and old" in sentimental accents as it was her sister's wedding dress. She remembered the new and blue in the traditional garter. Her father, Herbert E. Carter gave her in marriage.
Miss Imogene Larson, close friend of the bride and former school chum at Marywood High, was the nuptial soloist. Her songs were "Our Lady of Providence," "On This Day, O Beautiful Mother," "Panis Angelicus," and "Ave Maria."
Officiant for the nuptial mass was the Rev. Father Michael Casey with Mrs. A. F. Faust as organist.
Sister, Matron of Honor
Sister of the bride, Mrs. R'chard Ramon Tozer, Anaheim, served as her matron of honor. She was beautifully gowned in a waltz length shrimp-foned taffeta formal designed with a full net overskirt and matching stole. Other attendants were Mrs. Richard Martin and Mrs. Denis Cushman.
Both of Anaheim, Mrs. Martyn was dressed in a lemon-toned formal and Mrs. Cushing wore a gown in lime shade. They were designed identical to Mrs. Tozer's dress. They, too, wore the carnation wreaths in their hair and carried matching nosegays.
Little Miss Janice Spykerman, God-child of the bride, was the flower girl. She was dressed in a formal frock of pale blue taffeta taffetta fashioned with net overskirt and a tiny stole, and carried gold carnations in her nosegay. Carnations also formed the crescent for her hair.
